idea ... make it so apex food can be used in "fermenting machine" to make drinks while any living, dead, or rotten plants / food are used in "composting machine" to make bio fuel

Im actually thinking of revamping this mod some day
so no more biofuel farms
instead a biofuel plant that can take in organics and the base food ingredients from Apex Survival and turns that into the biofuel

With Apex Survival adding farming as vanilla mechanic I feel like Biomass, Organics and thus Biofuel will become more prominent with modders. Also it does help that when you search for biofuel CAT's mod shows up first, and theirs require food mods to work, while yours is standalone.

Honestly
this is another keen issue by making it incomprehensible to understand how the gas based fuel system works
TECHNICALLY i tweaked it to use less fuel so the tanks should last longer but it just doesnt
I would need to rebalance EVERYTHING to fix that by just dumping more fuel into the tanks
and atm I do not make mods for Space Engineers

tanks are so extremely low capacity, can be modified via config? i cant fly more of 2 min with 2 tank fills. just 4 thrusters. sorry for bothering again.

The mod works but I have a problem, it doesn't work automatically through the transporters. I have to manually introduce the unrefined from the survival kit to the refinery, any solution for this?

Heya. I'm working on a biotech-themed private server (just a couple friends). Would you mind if I integrated this with other mods that use Organic and do biotech stuff? It would require some editing to merge with the other mods. Specifically I'd be integrating it with:

idk if the output of 500kW is a bit high for what it is. Maybe like 100kW? due to lack of efficiencies of a less pure fuel.

The new EM Gen fuel usage needs to be balanced. 300 organic and 300 raw bio gives 1 year + burn time.

added something for very early game
a solid fuel generator that can take both organics and unrefined biofuel
its large block model doesnt have correct collision but thats because i have issues with exporting collision models.

Yeah, forgot about the hydro engines. I've been using your mod for so long I forgot that bug hits them too. Thank you for such a great mod. It's a must have for my games.

@smartbadger try to unsub and resub to the mod to force it to redownload, maybe that fixes it, cause sometimes you get a bad download.

Edit of previous post. It seems that a grid update fixed the engine issue and it is filling and running at 5MW output. Still hope that everyone having issues get a resolution.

For me everything works fine but the bio fuel won't fill into the bio fuel engine. I have a working system with a full bio fuel tank but the engine just sits empty. I really like this mod and hope someone will get it back up and running again.

Has there been some further change which has broken the mod again? I can't add organics to the bio refinery, bio tanks don't seem to show content correctly (sometimes show output while empty, or have no content even while biofuel farms show output). I've unsubbed, deleted the folder, and resubbed, but everything is the same. This is the first mod in my mod list, and nothing should be interfering with it.

they removed the "BasicIngot" category where the survival Kits had his stone refinery blueprint in it and merged it with "BasicComponents"
simple fix, should be up in a few minutes.

might be caused by the update, heard alot of stuff is broken cause of it
Its a bit late for me to look into this but its either a bug caused by keen or a compability issue

having trouble with this mod atm, "Organics" can't be placed anywhere (not in refinery, survival kit, assembler etc. nowhere) tried turning off other mods that may conflict to no affect. Ideas?

next feature i should work on should be the integration into the progression system, then the chemical lab so that you can produce rocket fuel, simple plastic and rubber for some recipes like the parachute (it will use plastic instead of silicon then, making them even cheaper) and plastic rockets (cheaper and weaker than normal ones, you dont even need platinum and uranium for them). over time i want to design some new blocks that use the new resources like new conveyors that look like rubber ducts and maybe some new armor that will fall inbetween light and heavy armor.

just some ideas for now, being a student keeps me from doing mods for most of the time.

hmm, sounds like something i have planned for the more complex version of this mod but honestly i have no scripting experience and i dont even know if someone ever made a mod which adds in UV lamps that can simulate sun light for blocks that need it.

Honestly i would just rather make a large block that produces unrefined biofuel in a similar rate to the biofuel farms, needs some gravel to run (but not much since it gets some gravel back) and has a higher power consumption than the biofuel farms. balance, you know, they are more intended to be a way to get unrefined biofuel while in space and not a better way to get biofuel.
the best way is still to harvest organics from a planet and turn it into biofuel via the survival kit (and/or a new block i might want to add, something like an automated chemical lab)

I like it. It beats the hydrogen engine. so long as it can stay on par with the hydrogen engine without the crazy fuel cost like the ice is. Ideally this could be space's counter to the wind turbine if you added some super low power UV lamps that you can shine on them indoor.

tbh, i didnt wanted the mod to feel overpowered or unbalanced
Ill up the efficency of the Farms from 75% to 95% and increase their power consumption and fuel production.

Imo this feels more expensive and less efficient than hydrogen. Ice is extremely abundant, the machines are easier to make, 100 ice produces 1000L of hydrogen in seconds, and 24hr energy production. The only downside to hydrogen is it takes 400kw more and a couple minutes of mining. This mod feels very under powered compared to the other alternatives.

The low production rate is a result of balancing
as i have it set up now, you get 75% of the energy used by the farms back in fuel.
i think its a good idea to increase the efficiency to 90% its not much but better than nothing
(i also recommend you to use a solar/oxygen farm alligment script for maximum fuel production)

it makes so little bio fuel it is useless in servivle if uped up how much each one by 2 then it would be usefull still would be hard to get but not imposable i used it on earth with 3 tanks and 6 farms for 3 hr still not even 4% :( i was looking forward and hopeing for more
