That's a good solution. The puzzles offering different ways of solution and you actually figured out a solution I didn't anticipated. You're very inventive!
That will probably not be your level then, because the tower is really the easiest part of Qbehsis.
Thanks for trying and have a nice weekend.
Thanks for your kind comments - I had already doubted myself! So far I could not figure out how to update the level anyway.
I still can't get anywhere - the jumps are just about at maximum distance, and at the beginning of the level, it's just frustratingly difficult. You might want to make the beginning a lot easier - as the level designer, it is hard to be objective about how difficult a level really is, and this one is HARD.
At this point, if you don't add more cubes or alter geometry, I probably won't be able to finish it ... *sob*. :)
General hint: sometimes it helps to get close to the edge of a brick to place a cube on a placement that seems unreachable.
Hope, I could help so far.
Wish you a good time and bye for now.
5. Look down and catch the first red cube under the statue, you've seen through the window.
6. There's another brick sticking out on the right side of the statue - jump on it, look up, jump again and grab the second red cube.
7. Jump down again to the starting point, look up and place a red cube on the placement above and the other right so, that you can jump on it by using the higher plant. Jump one unit higher, so you're standing behind the statue again, but now in a better position to come higher up.
8. Take both red cubes - place one of them on the placement right beside the statue and hop one unit higher - first checkpoint!
Part 1:
Starting point:
1. Turn around, look up and notice the first placement.
2. Go to the left side of the tower, look through the little window and notice the first red cube. A bit higher from the window, you see a brick sticks out of the wall a bit.
3. Go to the opposite side of the tower. Look up and perceive the placements, the second red cube and - our goal - the first blue one.
4. Back to the starting point; try to reach the little brick sticking out on the towers left by using the equipment (plants and so on) and further through the split in the wall into the tower.
First of all: please excuse me if my english sounds a bit german! ;) And thank you for not giving up the challenge!
I had the fear that the level would be too easy for those who finished the main game, but that's probably not the case!.
I've been into "Tranquil" an found some nice ideas - the fountain for example. Will you continue to build the level?
The gameplay mechanic in World 7 Level 4 was a challenge to teach since it wasn't intuitive at all! I had to kind of force the player into learning it the first time, and make it really obvious what they were supposed to do over and over till they got it.
Since everyone has their own style of gameplay, it's kind of like making a mini tutorial at the beginning of each level you build to teach the player the rules of the level ... not something that a lot of level builders figure out right away, so I started writing guides since I tended to repeat my comments over and over! :)
Please give me more hints ... I really want to finish the level! It is so beautiful!
Thanks so much for the kind comments! I am glad you enjoyed Church Ruins - it was a fun build.
I was able to collect the red cube, but still could not progress any further.
In general, I like to lead the player with light, color contrast, and make it fairly plain what they need to do in the beginning in order to progress, and then gradually increase the challenges until the most challenging part is at about the 3/4 to 7/8 mark, then ease off at the end. It can be frustrating to the player if they can't get the level started because it starts off too hard, especially when you are introducing a new type of gameplay or mechanic, like I did in World 7 level 4.
I have your level installed and will play it tonight ... I'm excited... :)
Thank you for subscribing Qbehsis! Yesterday I played your "Church Ruins" and loved that breathtaking architecture! So many great ideas everywhere; the trees, the church-windows, the crosses, the fun gameplay and so on... Well done, Mrs Ellie - I bow to you!
To get the two red cubes in Qubesis' tower, try to reach the top of the small wall behind the statue. There is a brick a little bit out of the wall on which you have to jump (diagonally across the small window through which you can see the first cube).
Have fun and a nice day.
What a beautiful level - the architecture is top notch, and I can see that gameplay just waiting there for me, but I can't get to it because I can't get that cube! So frustrating ... :)
Thanks for all the energy you put in to this level - can't wait to play the rest of it.
It's a rather pretentious map project and I don't have too much time but I hope to finish it,
Thanks
Thanks for playing Qbehsis, I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
To add a new waypoint, simply click the plus sign right beside of the first waypoint.
Change the direction by the x, y and z values. The editor-guide here on Steam offers a lot of useful information - take a look: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=514780252/
I hope I could help as I will be offline for the rest of the evening.
Have fun with the Qbeh-1-editor - maybe you can present us your adventure soon!
I may ask you (I'm building levels too), how do you make a platform move in more than one direction, other than it being unidirectional, did I miss something in the editor?
