It's defunct, but it was just an add-on for the base game and added flavor. It supported the two start dates, 1936 and 1939.

This mod is defunct, but for @Scottishsultan I can say that this mod was last update for NSB and if you roll back, should still work for patches that exist for NSB.

I said sans, which means without or excepting.
I was saying to delete everything in the HOI4 documents folder except the mod folder and save folder.
Sometimes, the game stores map data there, which can mess things up.

If that does not work, I am unsure, since the mod works fine for me. Be sure that no other mod is on, regardless of how cosmetic it might appear and make sure your game files are fully verified.

the map definition error IS the problem, deleting the contents of the save file does nothing

Plenty of mods edit the map, I am unsure how this one becomes unplayable? Sure, it's incompatible with other mods that mod the map, but I'm not hiding it. Heck, I give a disclaimer to that effect in the Known Issues section.

No death (Liberia, at the very least, will remain as is). I do need to decide how to handle the whole "getting a DLC thing." Considering locking everything behind an event that starts when the game starts. Either pick my mod or the DLC.

I see my mistake, it won't work currently if Somalia/Eritrea are owned by puppets, since the focus is accidentally checking to see if the owner has Ethiopia as a puppet (rather than the intended inverse.)
I'll be pushing a fix within the hour, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I am having some issues doing the "re-establish coastal presence" focus. It says the requirements are to have a coastal state puppeted or owned. I want to make sure that this is not a bug because in my current game I own pretty much all of the adjacent Italian territory and currently liberating Italy from Germany.

No. If the problem persists, try deleting everything in your Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV folder EXCEPT the mod and save games folders. Then try again.

I have found and corrected the issue. If Civil War code changes again, I swear I am going to commit seppuku.

In a perfect world, I would have time to sit down and make focus trees for every region. I just don't have the bloody time.

and I has commented something in one of your expansions. It would be cool if you can make expansion with southeast asia countries like Siam, British Malaya, Philippines and French Indochina. It will be a cool game-changing experience.

I think liberia civilwar is broken. I always go overthrown the goverment but it seems that I always get annexed and resign.

Still it a great mod, but I recommend you can make some african countries appear on country select thing so we can directly play at them tho idk.

Somalia definitely has an interesting history, but unfortunately HOI4 is not really a good game to show this off, as this timeperiod did not see an even nominally independent Somalia. Now, although they do not have a unique focus tree, they do have unique leaders and advisors as well as their own unique national idea.

Worth noting, I am still updating this mod for NSB, adding unique advisors and leaders for so many African nations was nice and all, but it means that I have to make a lot of changes.

Is it possible to make a playable occupied british somaliland with a focus tree. You could possibly do the communist historical route, a restoration of the adal empire by annexing ethiopia, a nationalist greater somalia, etc.

The reason I would say its a good addition is because somalia has a rich hostyr to make focus trees that draw from it and the italians wanted to make them fascist during their rule over it and indoctrinated them into their military. The british also used somali soldiers in ww2 on the japanese front.
