@Skorpychan: Try spinning - that's a good trick!
This fighter is old and comparably slow, combined with a forward-centred cockpit. Just face-tanking a station in this thing and expecting it to make it through is fairly enthusiastic and I honestly don't know what you expect me to say about this comment.

However, despite its age, the Vargr can still deal with SE's vanilla npc encounters quite easily. Especially when they're static grids.
Maintain a healthy distance and keep your weapons on target, while using upthrust and roll for evasion. Have your dampeners off and upthrust at full throttle, while engaging your target in a slow-roll. That's how you dodge the generic targeting AI in this game. Practice that and you will go through most encounters unscratched. If you struggle with that, I recommend moving to a more agile fighter with a modern weapons loadout. You can disarm most stations with a single assault turret.

@Skorpychan: That would make some sense, as I'm pretty sure this design predates NPCs existing in the game (besides the "cargo ships" that would float by in a straight line) and thus wasn't designed against them.

I tried it, the space pirate base shredded it in seconds without taking any damage in return.

THE LIGHT ARMOUR IS USELESS. It may as well not be there!

This is an awesome weapons platform. I crafted it in survival and after flying for a while. I started tinkering with it and adding weapons and changes to it. Thank you for the awesome ship

@MRC:
The name refers to a wolf from Norse Mythology. It is also commonly known as "warg" and has found its way into many fantasy-franchises, like the Tolkien-Universe.

This will be handy defending myself against the Vilani in the Lair System. :) If I understand the naming reference correctly.

Very nice looking ship built on the concept I was looking for. Now I just need to figure out how to build small grid ships out of a projector without losing my mind to armor blocks hiding themselves everywhere and behind each other. Building a piston-welderwall shipyard feels like overkill when I just want this one ship, but that seems like the only sane solution.

DeAnti: Thank you!

Dankenobi1: Already on it.

So did I. oh well, its a decent ship anyway.

came here thinking this was a Vaygr Strike Craft from Homeworld
Dankenobi1 2019 年 2 月 8 日 下午 1:54
Could you please make a Heavy Bomber version?
DeAnti 2019 年 2 月 7 日 下午 4:12
nice design

Thank you very much, @Malmhrid. This wouldn't actually be possible without the amazing creators who came before me. Like yourself for example - really love your stuff! I'm not even a full year in SE, but already had thousends of ships to check on the workshop and get inspired by, before I first started working on my own designs. So kudos to all the ppl out there who have and still are creating amazing fleets!

Taidyr, I really like the mix of aesthetics and functionality in your builds. Not to mention your norse naming conventions. You are good at making your ships look simple yet "real" in a sci-fi sense.

@TheTownWitchDoctor: Thx! I actually love the details you can add with grinded blocks, but I try to avoid them in survival-builds since they can be annoying to deal with, as you already stated. I use this and other ships like this on a regular basis and they get damaged quite often. Repair-platforms don't care about the aethetics and simply weld up the whole thing. I wish there would be an option that allows us to simply 'lock' a down grinded block in its state.

The rear thrusters on this look really cool, I like how you can see bits of the batteries under the shroud, the tanks under the cockpit are really cool too, great detail. Nice you didn't use cut down blocks, they're a pain in survival.

Thank you, @Cougarbelt. Im happy you like it.
