I never got the hat myself. so i coudnt know if it was paintable or not.
Have you try put all the numbers on 1,1,1?
If they all are on 0 they become white
Everytime i use the TF2 Hat Paint on a Team Captain it doesn't seem to work and besides the Team captain is not even paintable
Use Tf2 Hat Painter to paint the hat.
