i always RPed that when i got hit by an attack 30 feet away from me its because my characters are empaths.

thanks a lot for this idea, but i'm gonna make my version based on this where beak things and some other attacks can still hit two, and leviathans keep their 99 hit limit :beeped:

Excellent. I ported it to my mods folder and killed the debuffs to martial arts since I level several people high in that and never have problems with the weak arse gorilla bandits anyway. I never realised all that crap from the beak things and leviathans couldn't be blocked. Thanks for the mod.

Thank you so much for making this mod. Beak things used to be so infuriating to deal with. Now they still pose a threat(especially in the water. note to self: avoid swimming), but they're no longer nightmare fuel.

Very important mod. Once saw a Flotsam Ninja fight a Beak Thing, decided to help, attacked from behind. The Ninja easily blocked the first strike, me.. instantly knocked out, when behind the Thing. I know I were super weak, but were the the strike so powerful some kind of shockwave traveled 3-4 meters and hit me? Ridiculous

It disables area of effect on animals and area of effect inappropriate Hand to Hand attacks. Characters don't block if they are not being attacked with a strike. If strike is multiple character wide then the surrounding characters get hit instead. Simultaneous hits are maximum possible hits per strike, and one character represents one hit from that count.

So does this mod disable AOE attacks for everyone or enable everyone to block attacks not directly aimed at them?

I can't believe I didn't find this earlier. It is total BS when fighting Beak Things as they can wipe a whole squad (weak to average mind you) easily, especially if there are 2+ of them...

Amen to that. If you ever see your group waltzing too near one and he decides to go "OOOMMPHHH", you'll ♥♥♥♥ a brick when you see that -208 red text pop over someone that instantly got splatted.

Sounds like Bonefields. Not my problem, that is only like one stranded Leviathan instead of the usual packs in Leviathan Coast. The animals don’t flinch when damaged so they always have a chance to attack. Just a reminder a Leviathan alone can instakill a charater.

The Leviathan still need to bring back AoE damage. I just saw a pack of wolves eat this big guy, and he couldn't fight back. There were too many of them.

I didn't know adjacent squad members got hit with no chance to defense. I always just assumed they missed their roll.
Thanks for the mod! I'd still prefer them to hit multiple squad mates but let them roll for their defense, but until then, this is a better alternative.
