Replaced a broken playfield with an Alien Starter I made. It has no starting poi's, it only has Zirax poi's.

I wish there was a description of some sort for this. For ppl new to the game and scenarios may not quite understand what this scenario is all about just by its title.

@Zeellott thank you! I forgot to delete contend inside save folder that wasn't loading. But after delete, its load the galaxy all right, thank you!

You can start a game on single player and just copy the save file over and then run it as the scenario. The seed of the single player save will be what the static yamls will be based on. You should delete the contents of the Playfields folder and the Players folders before firing up the server, that way it will be a fresh start. Cheers!

I will give it a go tonight, but generally speaking I agree with Targa, to make a hard scenario, you gotta deprive the player of all the "catering" the vanilla games has.
I also find it a bit weird to be fully kitted with top tier stuff on teh starter planet:-)

Maybe... just maybe, that may make the game a bit more challenging. Really, once you build the motorbike, you've pretty much beat the game as far as the game not being able to kill you. On the snow starter planet you DO need a place to get out of the hail, but other than that and occasionally dropping the portable heater you've got it made.

To up the difficulty I suggest the following:

Edit the playfield_static.yaml and remove the "GroupName: CrashedShip" section. Remove all Alien structures that give epic weapons (abandoned mine, etc) - this has been a gripe of mine for years. You should not be able to get epic weapons on the starter planet. Remove all tutorial and solo missions, as well as making sure the ship wrecks don't spawn at the minefield in space. Add either one or two more PVs (even with planet size 3 I rarely saw the PV). Remove the tent from the starting equipment, so players can't skip over the night so easily.

I changed the planet size to 3 and gave that a try, but it's still too easy. Most of the "crashed capitol ship" wrecks have large or advanced constructors, medic stations, and basically everything but a core and generator to make into a ready-made base. You can also find capitol ship wrecks if you follow the missions in the PDA (the one that takes you to outer space). As well, the mission that takes you to the Talos wreck(s) gives a bunch of tier 2 weapons and such.

Thanks for sharing this! First of all, I suggest that you add a description to your scenarios rather than simply a title. Saves the trouble of having to read through all the comments to find out about the scenario. Secondly, while I appreciate the attempt to make the game more difficult, it's still too easy, even starting on the snow planet. My first feedback is that the snow starter planet should be size 3 rather than 4. Size 4 planets are just too tedious and time consuming to explore fully. They're also so huge that you'll rarely (if ever) run across the PV.

Fixed the Snowstart not spawning pois and a typo on the version of my snow planet static_yaml creating polaris faction Rados pois lol

OK, the snow start is now a VERY HARD to SUPER HARD start on all hard settings, depends on seed if its even doable on all hard. Im not going to lie, it may take a few tries to get a safe environment going. Hail will start after a couple days. The PV is allways a threat from day fricking 1 so dig in somewear quickly if you can. Cheers!

Depending on the start condition, bike is often the first I craft (after O2, heat, survival constructor). Also have 2 survival tools, one on defend and one on mining. For this start I probably get 3 each of O2 and constructors up running ASAP.

Updated Snowstart to make it a little harder at the start. Temp is now lower but heater\cooler is now added to backpack for easy, med and hard starts

There's 3 ways to make a scenario:

Static.
Static, but initially created by the SSG using a custom random config.
Random, that includes a custom config and re-randomizes the map on each new game start.

WARNING! PV on swamp and snow starts on some seeds seems to hunt down the player if player stays in crash site. I have tried changing its ai and patrol points to no avail. It just takes longer to get to the crash site. LOL. Game bug or intended, it makes for a frantic survival start. #Protip Make a motorbike ASAP!

@skiper remove weight restrictions after you have created a save game by going into the save and changing EnableVolumeWeight: True to EnableVolumeWeight: False in the gameoptions.yaml file of your save game. Cheers!

@ravien_ff The only static file for the scenario is the sectors file. All of the playfields are dynamicly generated. I have tried a few things and they dont work. I dont want to make any of the playfields static. I even tried manually setting the planet size in the dynamic yaml for the non starters but it crashes the game. Im thinking its a game bug that may get fixed in the future.

If you set up your scenario to be generated via the random solar system generator then the planet starting size can be set by the player when they start a new game.

If you're using a static scenario, then the planet size is fixed and you'll have to set it in the scenario.

Crap, I was hoping the non starters would follow the random default sizes. Wierd, I guess I will have to make the non starters a fixed size, the seed changes should still take affect though. I will test a few things before changing it. Cheers!

Good, and I like the volume activated; that saves me from fixing it myself. One thing though, I note that all planets and moons are all the same size as the chosen starter planet size.

If starting on swamp or snow, beware the PV. Some seeds it is very close to the crash site. Head west from the crash site to avoid usually. I have tried moving it to other side of planet but your seed may place it close. Also beware of faction zones overlapping the crash site on some seeds.

Weight restrictions enabled. Dynamic playfield generation. Starting planets have default singleplayer missions.
