First you get out of your ship, open the doors, get in to your ship, fly it in, get out again and close the doors.
As it says in the description, this is a module. There is instructions on how it works so you can modify it yourself.
I really don’t get it why you are complaining, nor what else you’re trying to write.
Put an antenna for example, for use the big door remotely.

Updated the description. On step 2 modify the size to your liking and save as blueprint. Should work as before if you keep the edges.

Well you could always remove some blocks from the middle on this one to make it shorter on the longer axis. For example, you could remove hangar 2 and 10, 7 and 15. As long as the doors are shut while doing so. And that you don’t remove the sensor it should still work as before.
