sounds good and thank you for explaining the reinforcements a bit more clearly. I did read all the starting dialogue such as the communications radar for air support and munitions points being both manpower and munitions, but I never understood exactly the reinforcement mechanic. I'll definitely look into the others too and hopefully beat this one in the future too.

@Flame: For player 1 the 6 reinforcements are random infantry squads you get throughout. For players 2 and 3, the 6 reinforcements are the random tanks you get throughout.

This 6 reinforcements does not count the starting units and it does not count the special spawns you get through in-game dialogue events.

When you lose one infantry squad/tank from the 6 reinforcements, another will come after a short period to replace the one lost, but keep in mind you cannot have more than 6 at any one time. Once the 6 reinforcement limit is reached, the next reinforcement wave will not spawn a unit for you.

I would urge you to try some of my other co-op missions. Some are more winnable as a solo player but please keep in mind all of them was originally designed to be played with human players. This Ardennes Resistance map is the hardest by a long shot.

hmmm, understandable. admittedly this is also my first time ever playing a custom mission so I won't deny me being stupid for basically jumping into the deep end first. the only question I now am wondering is are the 6 reinforcement units the 6 starting tanks or are they random units I get throughout? I want to say the tanks but I'm not sure. its a cool mission and I apologize if I offended you in any way, I did not intend to come across that way.

@Flame: This is by far the hardest co-op mission I had ever made. It's challenging but actually fair for its design. I know this as this map was playtested countless times prior to release and I am happy with the difficulty.

The allied airstrikes vs enemy airstrikes actually share the same code. Basically, the airstrike will target the greatest concentration of enemy/player units.

A tip for this mission is to use a mobile defence. Despite being a defence mission, it's actually not a good strategy to camp or try to hoard/fortify defences. But as mentioned before the single greatest thing you can do it try ti with other human players. However mind you even with other human players this mission is still very hard.

You can refer to the videos in this Workshop page to see some winning attempts and other fail attempts. Ultimately there's various ways to win but the success rate depends on your individual skill level.

Yeah I see what you mean by it being designed with human players. That said, while I enjoy the mission itself, I find its a bit TOO unfair to the player side especially since you can't call in units, half the unit upgrades demand a building you can't make and the two ai partners are set to easy vs 4 experts, all but ensuring that when the tank swarm begins youre just cooked cause I notice the friendly air support is just not smart at all but the enemy air support will just know exactly where you have anti tank stuff and just say Ctrl alt delete. again, I'm not mad, I know it was meant to be challenging, but fking hell mate.

@Opulent Omega: I have pulled off crazy stunts with Ai in the past and when I say I'm good at turtling in this game, lets just say I should be banned from using British forces in multiplayer lmao. I do hope to surprise you however just to be one of the first. Let's go kick some ass!

@Flame: I'm afraid this mission was very much designed to be played with human players in mind. If you beat this with AI teammates, you will become one of the first to do so. It's very hard so it should keep you engaged for a while.

I've jut installed this and I'm already looking forward to it. I love defense missions as turtling is my usual playstyle, so hopefully this does put me to the test. I have no friends that I can play this with but I'm used to playing with the Ai a lot so that shouldn't be an issue....much.

@LuizVinicius17 ☭: I rather term it is extremely difficult. This particular mission is the hardest of all the co-op missions so I expected many people would struggle to beat it even with friends. The random reinforcements do make it a lot harder if you are unlucky to get the worst iterations of the vehicles.

Quite impressive considering this mission is really very hard. Glad you had fun playing it. Perhaps try one of the other co-op missions if you want to try some more. :)

It took us many tries but we just beat the map - It was a blast!

@Tucoxx: That's cool. Dunkirk is well requested so it's coming. However there is great demand for the next chapter of the single player Iron Hearts campaign so I'm going to get that one done first. Hope you can wait for a while! Thanks! :)

For me, the fact that there´s no troop reinforcing plus the objective of covering retreating soldiers being to far up in enemy lines and without AI support ended up with me losing the few 4 squads that you are given. I also think that the spam of those germans stormtroopers makes it really hard, I would have done it with few, more varied infantry, and scout cars, pz II and IV f1s. I didnt got very far so I cant tell you of anything else.

@revanchrist: It's on the table but it would depend on the demand from players. Officially I guess The Spymaster of Stuttgart is a British mission so there is one available, but if people want a defence mission for the British then I can think about it. The basic plot for a possible British mission has already been made amyways. So it would just be a matter of making it in WorldBuilder.

Although from what I hear there seems to be more demand for chapter 6 of the Iron Hearts campaign series. So if this holds true then you will likely see chapter 6 of Iron Hearts come out before a British defence mission... but you can always change my mind lol :)

Thanks for all these great scenario maps, Opulent. Btw i wonder is there a British faction map in the making? I noticed you've created awesome one for all the other factions, ie Ardennes Resistance (OKW), Last Streets of Berlin (Wehrmacht), Leningrad Holdout (Soviet), and Normandy Defensive (US) so far.

@ST Hélios | No Game No Life: The idea is that players should notice their vet 3 Pumas becoming more ineffective around perhaps 20-30 mins mark and then voluntarily opt to discard them by either getting them killed or dismissed via using the Transfer Orders ability. This way they will make room for more appropriate tanks around the 30 mins mark which can stand a fighting chance at end-game.

It may not be the best answer available, but it was better than simply telling players their vet 5 Pumas won't stand a chance in hell in end-game.

@ST Hélios | No Game No Life: This is intended, but you'll have to humour me with the reasoning.

Basically, it's a hidden design choice to force players to abandon their Pumas as the game progresses into late game. If I had added vet 5 Pumas, they would have been great and will last until around the 30 mins mark. But past that you will find it is almost impossible to hold getting to 40 mins and certainly impossible end-game. When player realize this at the 40 mins mark, it will be too late and the reinforcement mechanism cannot recoup the massive losses in time for end-game.

Slight question, is it intended to spawn Wehr pumas and panzers when you play as OKW or a mistake? vet 5 would help a lot, even more so with the late game

@Mevelsson: Iron Hearts chapter 6 should be up next. I had wanted to implement some new mechanics and the latest co-op missions allowed us to test them.
