i'd suggest NSC2 for the stations combined with DrBlood's starbase expanded mod...whenever those 2 mods update, that is XD

I hope someone will do a better starbase mod, really miss them as I like to set up choke points. Tried this one with 2.6 and it really screws things up when it get to heavy platforms.

@XavierMace: That is actually pretty easy. Just add "eac_military_station_heavy_small" to "size_restriction" in the corresponding nsc file. should be reactors_something_blabla in component_templates folder

I saw the previous comments regarding NSC compatibility. I play with the full At War collection as well as NSC (and love them both) and feel that while there's some overlap, they do complement each other. The only "issue" I run into is that some of the flavors of defense platforms do not see non-Paradox reactors (such as the NSC reactors). This results in some platforms having insufficient power to be viable compared to the other platforms. Especially if you're running any mods that add weapons with a higher power cost.

It doesn't stop me from running both mods but I'd love to be able to have my cake and eat it too. :)

@ZJK: No it is not. I'm not aware of a compatibility patch. Running both mods would be kinda redundant anyway, they might follow different approaches but they both make Starbases very strong.

That is a well known vanilla issue. It's been hardcoded that AI will not upgrade bases if they have empty module or building slots. Use starnet AI with this as that mod has found a way around that vanilla "bug"

It seems the AI in my game cannot (or will not) build anything larger than a starport. Could that be caused by this mod?

This definitely is incompatible with Starbase Extended.

After adding a certain amount of modules to a starbase, the entire base disappears and new one hast to be created.

Question. I downloaded the Sins of the prophet mod. Does anyone know how to link up the heavy defense stations to the actual graphical culture selected.
I chose the UNSC ships, but the heavy stations still carry the original graphical culture assets. Everything changed except them. I was wondering how to link them up to said new graphical culture assets

Hi. Yes, there seems to be a problem running this mod together with NSC2 Season3 - Episode 3 - Mod Version 3.3.x.
lSince I've been running these 2 mods all the time I didn't notice until today.
Building a starbase will at most times cost 8500 alloys. Then in between it goes back to normal, 100 alloys, for a short while.
I've seen other reporting the problem under the NCS2 mod..
As mentioned, the bug seems to fall off in between and normal operation takes over.
Dang, I was very annoydwith the high starbase cost and thought it was the normal cost :)

I noticed some reports this mod is incompatible with NSC, could someone elaborate what the complications of running them together would be? I've started a game with both and I'm concerned it might hit something gamebreaking later on.

You can make a patch for that easily, just add the heavy platform to the shipsets files

The heavy defense platform uses a default platform graphic when used with a custom shipset instead of the proper defense platform graphic. Tested with Elves of Stellaris
