does this mod still work?

broke yesterday, "Critical error" on startup

I've just started playing this mod, it is awesome. Now I have had to restart (twice), but it feels like it is possible (for a solo playthrough). That is to say it doesn't feel impossible, I am not the best player by a long shot and I think I can do it. This is my first workshop scenario, but I'm definitely recommend this for anyone who wants a challenge that isn't impossible.
Without giving anything away, there were definitely a few surprises. Thumbs up to the author, nice job and to anyone thinking of playing this, don't read the spoilers. I didn't and it added to the challenge.

@Mr.-RexeX- That is a basic effect of the Modular Encounters System framework, not this mod. MES replaces those vanilla functions with its own.

I literally have only 1/2 ships spawning every 30 minutes, Did I missed something ?

Attention, this MOD disables the "Cargo Ships" & "Random Encounters" hooks in the Advanced World Settings.

@Kaito Nope. I just installed this one and the other factions definitely try to destroy each other. Took about 30 minutes before I started noticing them fighting, but there have bees some decent sized shoot outs so far.

I think with "faction wars" everything is pretty much the same, but factions with -1500 or so rep will actually build bases near you and hunt you. If I read it right that is.

Just to be clear, the difference between this and the "faction wars" version, is that the NPCs in the latter fight each other as well as the players, and this version only fights the players?

Could always play Dwarf and dig about... 600 meters down, then build your base. Might be tricky powering it unless you've been stockpiling ice or burrowing under ice lakes.

Is there a version of the mod that has NPCs fight each other but doesn't increase spawn rate? I'm spending more time cleaning up the dozens of NPC ships and repairing the base and building it

In the Files there will be a file for SpaceCargoship and one for planetarycargoships and the line is <MaxShipsPerArea>1</MaxShipsPerArea>.

What do I actually need to change in the save file info? Like, what line(s) define the number of cargo ships spawning?

Hi, is it normal to have drone spawned near my asteroid base every minute(after 2 hours of gameplay)? Or when I go mine resources to have 2 pop-up when I reach an asteroid? It's a little bit too much. And I don't even have big base(refinery+reactor+assembler+10 armor blocks and the starter ship). Moreover, they shoot rockets that somehow hits through 170m solid rock every 5th minute :-)))
How can I reduce the spawn counter for drones and restrict some of them from spawning? Thanks :-)

hi , when v4 npc wars ?

I lowkey regret upgrading to NPC wars, but I really don't. The "an enemy has spotted movement" or "an enemy has spotted an antenna/beacon" has gone off numerous times, and I've been surprised attacked 4 times now, all fairly devastating. Heavy damage to my station, completely destroyed utility ships, and major damage to my capital dreadnought, but still fully functional, thankfully.

This is by far one of the most fun things to add to this game, and I love it! It's cool seeing NPC ships fight eachother, and also go out of their way to fight you. I actually feel a challenge now, and really need to step up my defences.

Note: Engineers, if you install this mod (even on singleplayer) get familiar with the alt-f10 entity removal tool to delete destroyed ships that you're not even aware of. Keeps the sim speed up.

Is there any reason this shouldn't work on a dedicated server? We're having trouble getting anything to spawn with it loaded

I've been using the base version of this for the past 2 days or so. WOW some of the ships and stations are absolutely beautiful, and some are so heavily armed, I dare not approach them other than with spectator cam.

I think it's high time I kick everything up a gear and try this. Wish me luck lmao.
