It also lets you change the horde options in different ways, etc (cuz I think that as this mod's made in 2019, it could be broken by now, idk tho)

Does this mod still work? I love playing wilderness runs, and it would be nice to have zeds in the forest areas as well.

If only there was a mod that, instead of spawning zombies inside houses and on streets in cities, respawned zombies at the edges of the map at random spots and sent them towards the cities

seems to be functional in latest IWBMS build
the 115-1115 zombie hordes are a bit too much for the game to handle though, and unless you are playing with a very high zombie count you probably don't want to encounter such large hordes anyway
If I knew how to lower the upper bound for the large hordes (i.e. 115-345 instead of 115-1115) then I would be using this mod

Is it possible to have another mod with the zombies able to respawn in the wilderness? Once you clear everything out, it seems pretty quiet and gets boring again.

Last comment, I promise. While the mod is functional, the zeds seem to be spawning with no clothing. Not game breaking, just weird.

Hi! I was wondering if I would be able to put your mod into the server mod for my server, Monghell? I'd include a credit and link.

We're at a point where we have so many mods that it can take forever for new players to download the mods when they first login, so I'm trying to get permission to fold mod content into the server mod so it's not such a problem anymore.

Glad you guys are enjoying it. Ideally PZ would support migrating zeds and hordes that go into the forest and cross game cells, which they do not atm. This is sort of a workaround for that.

I'd be surprised if the methodology behind this mod didn't get integrated in to the final version of PZ. It's very good. Imagine clearing out Camp Hill, loading a pristine HMMWV with some loot, and hightailing it out of there, not really considering the consequences of so much gunfire. Ran into what looked like a thousand zombies crossing the road (rude!) and trashed the vehicle near the end. Limp-fleeing with a broken leg and almost no ammunition with a mountain of zeds chasing you through the woods is a much-welcome addition to the dynamic of this game!:steamhappy:

Thank you for this mod! Since I have been in the woods for 1 month and 13 days I never encountered any horde or dangerous potential death nearby my safe house. The only time when I met one was on the roads like your desc. which were in the woods but haven't moved a little bit so I helped a bit with my guns ;).

Nice mod! It must be included into vanilla (with various options in sandbox ofc). Not havig wild zeds - it's big con of PZ :pillow:

Yeah this mod is exactly what I was looking for to up the difficulty of the game in a fair way, but certainly not permenantly. What I really want is a version of this mod where the hordes spawn at the edges of the map, which would make this mod a must have for balance, fun, and challenge.

No. Thezed population will still be biased towards roads and maps. This mod also creates occasional hordes.

The spawns seem to be working again. Though if using a modded map the spawns seems to become very rare in the modded areas. The default map stays very populated. =)

Hi, there was a bug in the wilderness zeds rarer mod, so I can see how none would of spawned now :-)

After a bit of exploring for several days now. I very rarely see any zombies (if any) let alone groups or hords. Could their spawn rate be increased for rarer. Or perhaps a more inbetween option from rare and normal mode? I like normal mode, but the single zombie spawns was to high for my liking.

@Geronimo: Added a new mod called Wilderness Zeds Rarer, which has a rarer chance to spawn Zeds than Wilderness Zeds main mod, based on your suggestion. Both mods are in this workshop item.

I've got a document typed up of my thoughts on the game after I played for the first time yesterday. I haven't joined the forums yet. I looked at some mods people did and the code stuff looks horrible, like badly designed config files and such. I wonder if there's some tool that helped them make these configs or something because these are quite horrible. xD Item recipes and such are atrocious with duplicates being required for different reasons such as just having a different texture or some such.

Interesting, I'd actually prefer it though if the zeds in towns decided to travel out into the wilderness. So I can drive out into the wilderness and begin setting up a shack, and a week or two weeks later I might have a zed wander into my base, then months later large hoardes of zeds wandering through the forests that may find my base.
