Also Raven: "Looks at Tank."
Also Also Raven: "Makes This Abomination."
Eagle: I Guess we need more planes ;-;
No Ravenfield isn't ArmA or DCS but it doesn't hurt to have at least a sense of realism.
You never stated anything about aircraft MG's in your post before-hand brother, you just said aircraft in general.
You can't really blame me for wanting realism out of something I have many years of personal experience on and have crewed here in the states and overseas. I figured it'd be some cool & unique insight I could offer. Perhaps you can understand that at least. In hindsight, yes perhaps my suggestions aren't what will work for Ravenfield.
Of course you don't think it needs to be reverted, you were the guy behind that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ update!
But it doesn't change the fact. This is Ravenfield, not DCS, you were wrong from the time you compare what happened in the game with IRL.
Should it be 1-shotted by an aircraft? aircraft bomb or missile, yes, but I was talking about aircraft MGs... This thing got 1 shotted by an aircraft MG (no gradual damage, the HP bar went instantly to empty).
The proper way to simulate an SPG's survivability (or lack thereof) is to give it less armor, not less HP. And YES, SPGs' armor CAN stop 7.62s.
The right way to make this thing actually work in Ravenfield would be to revert it to before the totally wrong update, make it take damage from HMGs, and give it a faster shell travel time (but it might be impossible to do that in the current game system) as well as firing rate.
8/10
In reality this vehicle would get destroyed by an enemy aircraft instantly, as they have very weak armor. It's a self-propelled howitzer, not a tank. They weren't designed to be anywhere near the front lines or engage enemy vehicles.
As far as the aiming, it seems to be more sensitive (although view angle changed), but still has a short range. I'm unsure if there is some limitation to the mortar type aiming in Ravenfield, which there might actually be. I do agree with you that the firing rate is too slow. The speed change is much better though. Damage radius is right-on now too.
Shoots too slow, gets 1-shotted by any aircraft, and the new view angle of exterior view actually makes it more difficult to aim at targets far away. (as it's more horizontal as opposed to the more bird's eye-ish view before the update.
A classic example of "if it's not bronken, don't fix it."
