Seems this glitch is just impossible for people to fix, and not necessarily because tehy don't care or have quit. The last DLC and update to the game broke all blocks that can open and close bridges and gates like this. Quite a fumble on Keen's part.

Used to work great for me but just loaded into my old world and when placed vertically the hangar door becomes invisible when closed

Not tested and wouldn't do it because the picture shows very old Hangar textures from 1915
