For anyone getting the red settings error, this is a harmless error, caused by the game not updating the settings file after a change in the code. Can be easily fixed by going to:

C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config

And deleting Mod_GeneticRim_GeneticRim_Mod.xml

Why patches of Genetic Rim for mods Megafauna and Dinosauria exist on 1.2 while mods themselves not on 1.2 yet?

hi sarg i just found something interesting.. maybe it helps for future:

apparently "squirrel meat is a unique definition" and not using the usual meat process....

maybe that is why one of the patch mods was converting steel into squirrel meat, for example as mentioned here https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2193772059

maybe tynan can check why squirrel meat uses its own process, and maybe can make it use a normal animal process?

Yeah, I don't like the curing scars part, so I didn't add compat for that in any of my animal patches

Hey, I have a small issue. For megafauna animals (zygolophodon for instead), I am able to cure their scars using A dog said (As it is automatically detected). However, for a genetic one (Thrumdraeodon) I am not able to cure scars. I am able to install prosthetics, but not cure scars. Is it normal?

Unfortunately the only way to avoid it is not adding this patch to an already existing save. The whole way the game handles defs would have to be recoded to avoid collisions

Someone made a fan-made update of Megafauna.
You could, if you want, make a separate version of this patch for that.
At least until the original author of Megafauna updates their version.

Also, I'm running the Alpha Animals patch too, and that one doesn't cause any problems either. It's only when I have this patch running does my compacted steel turn into squirrel meat. Not sure what's going on, but I'd definitely appreciate some help.
