Check out Space Western Music Pack . It has the Serenity ballard and is generally pretty great.

As much as I love Firefly and it's OST this mod has two downsides:

1) The Main Menu theme has been replaced with a 15 second audio loop. This gets old reaaally fast when you are configuring load order or pawns.

2) As others mention, I sometimes get around 20 seconds of silence, then BOOM loud horror combat music! You frantically check your UI to see what Randy has done, only nah it's just the Firefly OST going HAM whilst you pick that Haygrass or tame a muffalo.

I'm thrilled you took the time to collect the music and make this mod. Hykal94 is right, it does sometimes play combat or horror music when nothing is happening, but I disregard it quite quickly. The vanilla music isn't bad, but the Firefly music is just on another level and works so well. Also, after watching firefly like 30 times through it tends to have the effect of placing you in that world pretty seamlessly. ty

I mention this here as a faire warning, if anyone has plans on uploading a video while this music mod is enabled like i did then the video will be disabled from the owner. so if you plan on recording rimworld you should make shure that this music mod is disabled or else it will be al for nothing.

So I've the mod installed and I'm getting these super serious music like being attacked or in a horror movie or an action scene and it just doesn't at all mesh well with what I'm doing (farming, building).

The mod doesn't recognise context and I think this is a pretty important thing to have in regards to a music mod.

Hey, I don't know if you've made aware, but for crazy as it sounds, your mod conflicts with Prepare Carefully. If I have this one on, at the time of choosing characters with PC, it fails.

Yup, after you mentioned it, I had a look at the steam workshop version, to check whether there were likely to be any compatibility issues. It should all play nicely.

@AnthonyDPS - they should be fully compatible, yes, but I haven't tested, as I don't use the custom music mod (didn't know about it, otherwise I probably wouldn't have made this, lol).

Just FYI I think several other music packs use OGG files for better compatibility; granted the issues that was meant to address was several alphas ago, I haven't tried mp3 tracks in game for a while.

Yeah, ut's a bit quieter, but the levels seemed fine. R-encoding them would actually reduce the quality. :(

Yeah it's quiter than original songs. DIdn't standardize the WAV levels I think.

@dizzy loeuy - I'm trying to figure out if there's a way of setting some mod option to select which music you'd like to hear over the menu. I don't know if it's possible, but I'm looking at options.

I had a think about it and tried it out and yeah, the instrumental version of the theme fits much better over the main menu, so that is now committed as a change.
