F
--------------------------------------------------------
Noctis left his friends to fight the Daemons while he finished off Ardyn. When Noctis says his final farewell "Walk tall my friends" He knew he was leaving them to die. This is kind of reinforced (again interpretations) by the final campfire scene (which many believe this is them in the afterlife)
The only "they survive" ending that was kind of hinted at in my opinion was the second ending to Ignis's DLC.
But hey who am I to tell you how you interpreted the ending. Still I just wanted to give you context on the notion of their deaths
it"s still a good game although not enough good for FF
It wasn't cut content but planned content for further expansions to the game. Back in 2018 Square had gone through some managerial changes and the the director of FF15 got cut, if my memory recalls correctly. The FF15 had planned to keep working on the game and expanding it more with the Episodes and building up more of the magic system, basically like how X-2, 13-2, and lightning returns continued those games. But without creating a whole new game. The new managers decided to scrap all that the FF15 team was doing and just cancel further work on the game.
Custom modded Summon
The DLC we got were very fun and actually added some variety to gameplay, so it's a shame we won't be getting anything else. Just not profitable enough for them, I guess. Figures.
