the blueprint has a low chanceto be in the shop. so maybe you got just unlucky. you can change that easily with the forgotten construction set and set it to whatever you like. here is the submod i made to set the spawn of the blueprint to 100%.
out it after the backpack mod. also you may need to import your save for it to work( i didnt test that with an already running game.

I have a VI level research bench. Have not seen a research option for the back pack bench and I have not seen blueprints for purchase in the world (on this playthrough). I have seen them in the past and I have used this mod successfully in the past, but I cannot figure out why it's not working now.

I had this mod already installed at the start of the game. I've moved it to the bottom of the mod queue.

I'm going to need about 200 backpacks to do what I am trying to do on this playthrough, but there's no way to steal them all. It's just too time consuming.

Until there is a fix or I can figure something out I'll have to abandon this playthrough.

It doesn't look like I have the option to research it, even though I'm passed tech 3 (and I've imported my game and have been checking stores for blueprints for a while, in case those are needed). Does it add a new workbench just for backpacks?

i opened the mod in the FCS and it looks like you need to be on tech 3 to be able to research backpack crafting ad it should be in the smithing category.

i cant tell you where you will find it but i loaded up an old save and there i had the backpack crafting bench build before i got to tech level 4.
i hope that helps a little bit.

you could try to import your game. cant tell you right now if it will help since i dont have played the game in a long time. but whewn importing your save your chars and base ect will still be there. so its a try

does this mod automatically pick up modded backpacks? I've got the hive cybernetics mod and trying to find the backpack is a damn nightmare.

Nice mod! The backpacks it makes are: Small (coloured), Medium (coloured), Large, Shopkeepers, Small Thieves, Thieves, Traders (Large), Traders (Medium), Traders Wooden, basic Wooden and finally Scavengers Basket.

It costs only one Fabric to make them. Bearing in mind Large Backpacks sell for 2,500cat it's a way to make money when you are starting a game.

Mod works as intended, but... So expensive...

There isnt much info about this mod... Like are there diff kind of bags you can craft? How many space and penalty it is and where it can be crafted, does it require to be researched 1st? like come on

When I was making this mod, I realized that they are crafted instantly, and there was nothing I could do about it back then, but I can have another look at that if I get the time. I remember trying to increase the crafting times and so on, but for some reason they were always crafted instantly.

I think I tried to balance that out a little with high costs. I think the high cost was also due to the bags being very handy, so there had to be some "penalty" for making them, since the time to craft them was so fast. One could craft a hundred bags in a minute, and sell them all for instant money.

Nice, my only real issue with it is that all backpacks take a really high amount of fabrics to craft and they seem to be crafted almost instantly. A small blemish on what is otherwise an incredibly useful mod.

Yeah the backpacks are a little wonky when it comes to modding, but glad to hear it works!

Jups it's working. But for some reason the big trader's backback looks the same as the Large Backpack but that doesn't matter as long as it works.

There was a problem with it when I made this mod, for some reason it was not craftable. I'll try and see if things have changed, tomorrow if I can.

Yeah it would've been cool :) But thankfully they created nice modding tools so we can patch these little things up.

Unfortunately there was no way to extend the crafting time, so it had to be instant. I can check that again as well when I get to it to see if they've made some changes to that :)

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's either armor crafting, or then nothing. I will have to check it out when I get the chance. Good questions, I'll add them to the description later hopefully!

Yes i did the research, there is another mod that allows for bag crafting so my mind must have gone to that :)
Another question - what skill your bench use? Is it armour smithing like clothing bench?

If I remember correctly, you should research bag making, and get all the recipes that way :) It's been a while since I worked on this so my memory is a little fuzzy.

It works properly now, I think. I got my Beep to carry over 2000 kg of goods the other day. At least he had someone to carry him.

There was an issue with it for some reason. It wasn't even wearable when you could craft it. I'll try to get back to this at some point and see if things have changed.
