so if you use them as an ingredient they don't count as 'bad' anymore? That sucks. Any way you can think of to allow them to still be used to make Kibble?

They lose the special food status if you reuse them in another recipe breaking the items. so they became meals.

Is there a reason that Smoked Meat is considered a Raw Food, but Smoked Human and Smoked Insect meat are both in the Meals category? I'm not sure if that's how this mod usually is or if that's another mod changing categories. It's inconvenient tho because it means you can't use smoked insect or human meat to make kibble.

Yes as Fish is a meat. But you will still get smoked meat not a smoked fish.

I appreciate the response! Apparently if the alien race's mod changes the color of the race's meat, the framework automatically makes a "human-like" meat for them with the same image as the human meat but a different color. These all count for the cannibal/non-cannibal conditions, as they really are identical. I'm not really sure how one would be able to identify all of those automatically, but in an ideal world they would be included in the smoked human meat. I thought that this was a thing some time ago, but I could be remembering a different mod from within the 1000+ hours I've played. So no worries.

I made that change a year ago. The way recipes work the Thought of eating like Human meat does not carry over if you use the ingredient twice. Its in the Change notes with more details.

I'm not sure about the change to Alien races. I did not know that were being counted as Human meat :P

Just realized that I hadn't used smoked human meat recipes in 1.5, as neither of my main colonies did such. I still feel this used to be a thing, but now I'm not sure that I'm not remembering it wrong. If so, please ignore my ramblings.

Wanted to start by saying that I love your mod and have been subscribed to it since I was first told about it. I have run into an issue since switching to 1.6 that I hope isn't too big of a problem to fix. When playing with alien races previously, the alien meats that some races use counted as human meat for the purpose of the smoked human meat recipe, but do not appear to be working now. Is this something that can be fixed? I tested this with just my race mods and this mod, so there shouldn't be any issues with other mods causing problems (besides the races not using human meat in the first place, bloat be damned).

Hello you wonderful man. I have a question. Smoke things don't count as a meal. Even though I have over 300 smoked meat in the game, there is still a Low food alarm. Is there any way to fix it?

Meat can be preserved by drying and smoking. Smoking meat takes a long time, but you can do a lot at once.

*Smoked meat is kept for 35 days. It is classified as unprocessed meat, so it can be used in all recipes that use meat, such as meals and feeds.
* Smoking pits are campfires modified to use less wood, burn more slowly; produce less heat; die out faster in the rain; and can smoke meat.
*A smokehouse allows you to smoke more meat at the same time, much more than a smoke pit.

PER "洛清衣" This is a very old mod maintained by many authors. I saw that it hadn't been updated for a version or two and decided to keep it alive. I will add it to my Vegetable Garden collection and keep it updated.

-Can smoke human/insect meat into a meal. Cannot be used to prepare other meals.
- The Smoke Pit requires research on eating dried meat.
- The smokehouse requires dried meat and complex furniture to build.

If you take an Ingredient with a special property like "Human Meat or Insect Meat" and run it through 2 recipes. IE Make a smoked meat then make a simple meal.

The Special food properties are lost. And it won't count as that special food for Ideo buffs and losses its negative de-buffs.

The meats are coded this way. I spent way too long trying to find a fix for it.
So I just removed the smoked version for making meals.

Ive been using this mod and loving it so far. I would like to make a request. Can you make the options for the smoked human meat and insect meat come up as options for ingredients for pemmican and for meals. I like using insect meat and human meat as ingredients for pemmican and meals that I then feed to my animals. Im thinking they can be disabled by default. Not being able to make pemmican or meals for animal feed out of the smoked meat has left my gameplay with huge stockpiles of both. Thanks

Correction, the smoked insect meat appears to be labeled as rawTasty, which prevents it from being used by ideologies that love insect meat but don't eat raw meat from eating it properly. Changing it to mealSimple like smoked meat fixes this.

For the smoked cannibal food, it sounds like an ideology thing. I have "Insect Meat: Loved" in my ideology, and smoked insect meat is still given a debuff and considered a disliked food. I suspect the smoked cannibal meat is having the same problem.

GoodGuy420 i regret added that to this mod. I have had tons of issues making that work correctly. but I will talk a look and see if it broke again. is it a Gene or a trait for the issue?

Blitzmo im planning on adding a smoker that uses the Processor Framework to auto make the smoked meat. I am just thinking about if I wanna make new art for it :)

Not sure if this has been covered but: currently trying a cannibal playthrough and as pawns eat "smoked human meat", they receive a debuff of -3 for consuming "Non-Cannibal Food." Is there a topic covering this or is there a way i can fix this?

Hi! First, thank you for maintaining this mod. It's my go-to for preserving food when freezers aren't available. I'd like to post a mod that adds recipes for smoked fish made from seafood of Rainbeau's Fishing Rework (https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2920098766) . The code is pretty much copied from the smoked meat recipes, and since I'm not much of an artist I took the graphic of smoked meat and adapted it as well. Would it be okay for me to post this mod?

Spoonk those errors were corrected. as not a conflict was just a coding change in 1.4,

Hi! sorry I don't have much info, but smoked meat conflicts heavily with one of the other mods in my downloads

I do not have the time to try them all individually to search for conflict I apologize, but Just thought I'd say it would be great if you could list the known conflicts -- I see a few in the comment section already

It just doesn't show up under production -- or really anywhere (meat smoker)

FYI, if anyone has this issue. Smoked meat disappeared as an ingredient for me again, and after some research, I figured out that it was a conflict with the mod Food Sorting. Personally, I'll go with this mod and remove Food Sorting from my modlist.

--This fixes the Errors with Vampires and should fix the Ingredient issue as well.

There is a error with Biotech DLC, pawns with the Hemogen Gene will be unable to eat the smoked meat from this mod, I will post the error log in the discussion folder.

This is one of my absolute favorite mods. However, I see that the regular smoked meat is now categorizing as a simple meal instead of food that can be used as a component in meals. Is this a result of the 1.4 update or an intentional change to the mod? I didn't see anything in the change notes.
