Tell that to the Turks and Mongols
So yes, most of the time the Mounted Longbowmen were more akin to later Dragoons, mounted infantry who used their mounts for tactical and strategic mobility and flexibility upon the battlefield but fought dismounted. However, there are cases where they did in fact fight mounted, though the longbow will never be as effective used mounted as you simply do not have the bracing to draw the bow to full draw, so you *will* sacrifice range and rate of fire in comparison to dismounted use.
The longbow was not historically used from horseback. Even if it is technically possible to do so, it doesn't mean it was practical.
That wikipedia page does not say the longbow was used from horseback, it says longbowmen would be used alongside mounted troops.
Tell me about the Old Gods DLC :3
I'll accept your request and make a Pictish Retinue ^^/
They don't exist beyond the High Medieval Era unless you buy DLCs, so I'll probably making a seperated retinue mod for the Picts.
Glad you like it :3
It has been recorded to have being used on horseback, but probably extremely rare

There's already a Gallowglass retinue for the Irish culture. The shocktrooper are actually based on the Kerns, but Irish Shocktrooper sounds better XD
Kerns - light-infantry usually acting as skirmishers

Rename shock trooper to
Gallowglass - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gallowglass
Sorry to be pandantic; thanks for the mod.
Oops, my bad. And yes, it's 400 light infantry, thanks for pointing out! ^^
You're welcome!
@Soviet_WaffenSS
Cool, now I'm thinking of buying the Sunset Invasion DLC XD
time to ♥♥♥♥ up the aztecs now!
By English means just the later English culture, Anglo-Saxon culture not included
