Just letting anyone know if they're running into the same issue.
Thank you so much for uploading this beautiful map, I'm having a ton of fun playing!
It gives me this error message: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I would love to play with that map as it looks stunningly beautiful in the pictures.
I have all the required workshop items installed, so its not like im being seriously stupid about something, but there may be somesting stupid that im doing wrong, but I dont know. Do you know any way to fix this?
but you have to have following:
- fine road anarchy - otherwise you cant use the placed highways, they are too close together to connect to them with vanilla rules.
- mass transit, or you wont have highways
i recommend the tropical beauty theme, its not the biggest, so should be not problem, it makes the map way better
and i recommend network extensions, or some roads on random locations will be missing.
This map runs perfectly fine on a decent machine. If you have a potato, search for Vanilla maps. Vanilla restricts so hard, that you cant place much^^
Altho I haven't started a city, too busy as yet, but I have loaded it and moved around the map to take a look.
I wouldn't worry too much about the ratings, any map will not please everyone. It would be nice tho if those who didn't like it would leave constructive feedback.
It is a resource demanding map, not potato friendly. Also it does need a lot from the workshop.
The elevated roads might put some off, as well as the construction in the start square.
I'm not trying to sound neg, I have praised and up voted the map, just trying to offer a response to your post.
This looks to have some great potential, thanks for sharing.
Changelog:
- Rerouted a railroad section from elevated above an interchange through a tunnel underneath the intersection
- changed position of many trees
- added ~6000 Trees manually one by one to let certain forests to apear denser.
- Tweaks to shipping routes, the ships made crazy looking sliding curves... they still do, but not so bad as before.
- added a few more creeks and made a bit of mountain terraforming and some more changes to existing rivers
- changed a 4 lane road shortcut raod to 2 lane highway at the start area circleway, as every car drove through the circle instead of taking the intended shortcut.
- added quays and pedestrian paths at the harbour
- added one of the 2 hydros, as the valley looked to empty without it
- some minor tweaks
Many thanks for your reply and also for considering the need for Network Skins and it not being required..
About Network Skins, yeah you are right, its not necesary, i will remove it from depedency list. I just was not sure when i created the list, better be safe then sorry :)
Thank you for your hint.
It does seem to be most impressive.
I'll hold off from starting a new city using it due to what you note.
Is there a genuine need for the Network Skins mod...? I ask because that one does seem to cause and FPS / stutter issues as the city gets larger, it is noted in thread for that mod also.
For those of you, which want to play the map, and have not startet yet, be adviced.
There will be another update in the next 1-2 days, there were still some flaws and nice to haves i found, while playing.
You will only see the changes, if you start a new game with the map.
