I tinker around with stuff occasionally, and if I come up with anything cool or interesting enough, I'll post it. On the Besiege front, I'm mostly waiting for them to finish the last two Valfross zones, and I'm hoping to draw inspiration from that.
In the meantime, I've been preoccupied with getting all the items in Robopass while I can, and learning Mandarin Chinese. The language study has turned out to be a more time-consuming than I anticipated; if I only spend a mere hour or two, in a day, I don't feel like I've made enough meaningful progress.
So that's where I am right now with it. Thanks for showing interest by commenting! :steamhappy:

Any plans for a new machine?

You did it again! This thing is one of those builds where you could just go threw all the levels seeing what you could do without it looking impossibly to get past. Easy to get around but a little tricky to get use to the catapult. And with the design its easy to flip back over if you get stuck on your back. From what I've played with it it should be fun in a battle with friends. Nice job on this my dude.

@Ross Plavsic Ok, that will work, I was thinking of doing that, but wanted to first see if there was something easier. Thanks for the help!

@BILBO Baggins I'd love to see your amazing, vanilla, compact creation if this is what you categorize as prehistoric, smartass...

Amazing job Ross, I'm impressed, well done!

@SinisterSecret Solcat's suggestion is probably the best way to go, and it will be easier if you have the advanced building tools turned on. If you want to make a slightly different mechanism that gives tight turns, the general idea is that I use the piston in the middle to force the turn, instead of just using a slider. You can start the piston fully extended by pressing "F" on it in build mode.

Also note that you can get an even sharper turning angle by keeping the steering components on the same level. I just set some of the parts lower to make room for the catapult.

@BILBO Baggins It has more than just the steering and suspension. The main challenge was fitting a powerful, collapsible catapult into such a tight space (as well as the cannon and self-righting mechanism). I also wanted to set it up so that you could drive it roughly without setting off the bomb.

disect the vehicle and look at the mechanism block-by-block

Great steering method! Been trying to get a tighter turn with RTC steering myself, but always ended up making the mechanism much larger than I wanted.

Right at your standard: Vanilla and amazing, good job, as usual
