The Spathi Eluder also has the "main" weapon, a weak forward firing rapid gun. Considered useless by many compared to the B.U.T.T. missile but it had its uses on special situations, like picking off the Ur-Quan fighters that chase you or when the enemy has point defence of some kind.

Spathi always shoot backwards and run away.

Why the speed boost instead of scout shot? Is it not fast enough otherwise?

Originaly the Spathi Eluder was called the Spathi Discriminator in the original Star Control. It was renamed for Star Control II.

You should be able to create a fart missle when modding tools come out. You'll need to create a unique weapon (can duplicate rear missile if that is good enough for you), and then define it with a fart sound in the "PrimarySFX" setting in the new weapon's XML. Very much liking the ship design!
