@diazjamesp Yea, if it's any president that deserves Manifest Destiny, it's Polk. He oversaw the greatest expansion of the United States through the acquisition of half of Mexico after the American-Mexican War. Washington's ability should be more focused on his charisma. He stopped some of his mutinies by sympathizing and listening to his fellow soldiers and this carried on to his political years as mentioned. The reason was so beloved was because he listened to people smarter than himself. His buff should have something to do with defensive combat boost and loyalty. So cities with a great general inside them have full loyalty to him. Retired Generals grant a temporary boost of culture and a free governor or governor promotion. He can be given an exclusive unique unit too, Minute Men, replacing Musket men. Receive double fortification strength and movement after fortification when next to a respective great general. This would reference his work with Nathaniel Green.

George Washington didn't promote Manifest Destiny. If the developers were considering putting it in Civ V, they changed their minds because it doesn't make sense. His agenda also makes no sense.
Giving him Manifest Destiny is almost like giving him a Cold War trait, and is anachronistic.
While he fought alongside/against Indians a lot during the revolution, not much of either happened during his presidency.

It would make more sense to give him a trait that emphasizes something he actually did/was renowned for.
I would suggest either giving him a bonus for being a very popular president(he was the only president to win a unanimous vote in the electoral college) or for doing something he actually did in his presidency(e.g. setting up the national bank with Hamilton/generally getting the country's federal government running/miscellaneous post war matters; there's a bunch of stuff to choose from). Alternatively, you could give him a trait related to his military accomplishments.

Any plans for a Franklin D. Roosevelt lead Civ?
seems an odd fit of abilities for Washington, neither expansionist nor did here have any particular problem with his neighbors. Manifest destiny was half a century after he died.
Both of those abilities should probably be used in a 19th century president.

Can you please replace the Civ 5 background into something more accurate like:
1. A colonial philadelphia painting (done in the Civ 6 leader background style).
2. A port near New York City.
3. JFD's George Washington mod background.
Please?

Is this mod compatible with the Better Balanced Games and Better Balanced Starts mods?
I lowered the% from 50 to 45, so we are no longer in negative values when using Sui Generis.
found it: the 33% come from the Sui Generis Mod thats packing all those Civs into regional groups. Guess its not as compatible as claimed^^
@Leviathan Thanks for your feedback. Could you please tell me where do your 33% come from? (if i'm correct 50% is the leader, 20% is the policy). I will lower the leader to 45% while waiting.
Encountered a possible bug/conflict.
With this Leader and the 'Land Surveyor' Policy the Tile Purchase Cost goes into negative values (100% - 50% - 33% - 20% = -3%).
This leads to tiles not being purchasable at all. I am not sure if this is intended, a bug/oversight here, or a conflict with another mod though.

@Mute Soul

Philadelphia was the capital for much of Washington's time as president while D.C. was being built.
I'm also on board with the Minuteman idea.
The Seventh Soul 2019
Since Washington was from Virginia, I figure it'd be more fitting for his capital to be Arlington or Richmond instead of Philadelphia. If you were to make a Frank Reynolds alternate leader for America, that would definitely work- unless there's some historical context to this that I'm missing.

Stephan Thanks for your feedback, it is fixed now!
Since GS, all other American Leaders get +1 Diplomatic point for every wildcard politic - but not washington - or is it just not written and still happens? Other DLC Leaders like trump have the +1 in their text... Hope i could help.
think you could get the minute man back to washington and replace teddys cavelry?
Historically, this mod doesn't even vaguely resemble Washington.
He hates *ALL* Nieghbours? That seem a bit much... Should limit it too 'own continent'. I also second "Kronos1614's" suggestion of having the Minuteman as a 'Leader unique unit' (A slightly weaker in combat version of the Musketman unit, but can get recon type promotions - Also like the Civ5 version iirc).
It would make sense for Washington to get the Minutemen as a unique unit that is unique to him, like the Rough Rider is for TR.
Kilroy 2018
Great mod =)
Thanks for your feedbacks, I've changed the sight bonus from +2 to +1. Have fun!
+1 sight is enough
Founding Fathers should be different to reflect the government changes in R&F.
So the special units are unchanged except for sight range?
Equites 2018
Why +2 sight? In civ 5 it was only +1. I tink +2 is a bit to OP...
