OHHH the clips! Yeah they're part of the original ammo stack model by Valve. Didn't do that one. I thought you were talking about the .308 box,lol. Also makes me wonder too because not a single weapon in-game uses those kinds of clips

So why is the presence of .308 ammo in L4D2 a peculiarity? There are M14 mods out there if your reason is realism. (Like the one I'm using)

Im aware of that. They were tested in the 26" barrel of a Savage 12VSS rifle. So evidently used not just for Karabiners. Also can be modeled for the M14 and the Springfield. Commonly misconcieved as 7.62mm NATO rounds: the .308 Winchester round is 0.13mm shorter than the 7.62mm NATO round and is commonly used as a cheap mock-up by people too poor to buy the 7.62mm NATO round. The 308 is alot less versatile however and adopts a less stable flight path.
