Hey, How do you remove the Local Player Health Number as seen in the screenshots, been trying to for months now

I should address this grievance: this streak I mentioned is a sprite standing in for the flashlight's beam cutting through the air. This is caused by the Additional Melee Slot add-on moving the melee weapon to slot 7, it makes the beam default to the center of the player and not follow the flashlight properly. It can be seen because your vision bobs.

There are two fixes: forgo the Additional Melee Slot, or use an add-on that disables the flashlight beam.

Yeah, that's why I remove the smudge effect from my more recent melee mods. I shall update this one as well.

I like this one... as a world prop. It doesn't make me any more inclined to use the nightstick, for the same reason as Tööttieläin's old school flashlight: after you swing it once, there's a white translucent streak right in the middle of the screen that bobs obnoxiously when you move.

The animations were designed this way. There is a script mod to flip (all) melee weapons around, but I'm not sure if this can be done to a single one.

Maybe I'll animate a huge-ass FormOptik XL myself one day. Ha ha. One day.

@Vector, and the key phrase being "custom map". It is possible to add your own melee weapons in your own custom maps. In addition to Helms Deep, Dark Blood and the Resident Evil campaigns are good examples.

That's a good point. The Hotline Miami DLC's fire axe is the obvious choice for our L4D2 one, people've wanted a proper, modern, rubber gripped fire axe for ages. The Killing Floor 2 Pulverizer animations would look badass on it (love those animations so much).

As for the others... hm... maybe Sangres' Verdugo machete? It's a bit large, but it's the best looking machete out of the bunch. The Hockey Stick or Morning Star might make fine replacements for the Golf Club.

I dunno, just spitballing ideas!

@Killah Zillah, thinking of PD2 melee replacements, I think I should fill the gaps first. Right now we have two bats, hammer for the frying pan, and a tomahawk for the crowbar. Now that we have a tonfa replacement, there's still a fire axe, guitar, machete, katana, and a golf club to do.

Just tested it ingame, and I love it! The only constructive criticism I believe I can give is that the downward swing animation seems out of sync with the hit timing. Damage would occur after the maglite has already passed by. Other than that one detail (which you may not be able to fix and I'm honestly satisfied with it how it is), all the other animations are on point!


I hate to seem like the mouse that asked for a glass of milk with their cookie, but if you're still open to suggestions..

The frying pan has lots of mods, but very very few that replace it with something actually found in a kitchen, which often looks really weird.

Would you mind replacing the frying pan with the Psycho Knife from Payday 2? The frying pan gives me a headache, but there's so few *fitting* replacements for it.

@not prepared, I sped them up to match the default Tonfa attack speed. The Nightstick is the fastest melee weapon in the game, but with pathetic range, making the hit detection issues the most notable with this weapon.

Does it have an overlapping light with the default flashlight? How many infected can I hit before I have to solder the wire connecting the LED to the battery compartment?
