The generator can't be placed on platform saddles, just like the normal tek generator. So for me its not usable.

Beautiful mod. Peace and quiet, no more fireflies, and a whopping 5000 storage capacity I don't know what to do with. Plus it's small enough to easily hide now if I wanted to.

How is this unlocked ingame for players?
Having the Tek Generator unlocked does not allow one to learn/know this engram. It is showing as not discovered yet (black).

First mod I ever installed and it solves my biggest pet-peeve about end game building. Love it

Installed a new dedicated server with The Island only has this mod on it did not change any settings and I use Ark Server Manager . Spawned in a raft can't place generator spawned in a Bronto and a platform saddle still can't place generator. Still don't know what I am doing wrong.

Yah that is strange it should work if it works on dino platforms.
I will have to try it again I installed a new server I will try it on there with out any other mods.

@dayneh I've no clue how to do that, sorry. :D But it works on dino platforms, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on a raft...

@lucia_davis I mean it had to have some build cost (instead of being free) in order to show up on lists. Otherwise it needs no resources (no fuel, most notably).

What does it mean by "tiny cost"? does it need element but slightly less often?

Can this be made to place on a raft?

Would it be possible to add the name of the engram to this page, please? I tried guessing the engram name as "EngramEntry_SilentTekGenerator_C", but trying to OverrideNamedEngramEntries didn't work (for me).

As a tip - you can disable collisions and place them underground , if you don't want them visible anywhere. You'll obviously need cheat permissions to do this - ask your admin.

@R.I.P*DEATH Sorry man, but that was the price for fixing it to get it working at all. There were some changes in the base game code, and that's how it came out. I had to essentially rebuild it from scratch. Maybe I'll fix it down the line, who knows. And stop shouting.

Just came back to Ark -getting ready for Genesis 2 - found the gens I was using did not work so this really is saving the game for me.

can someone let me know how to build these? I dont have the ability to spawn things in myself.

thx! but could you like mess around with the file labels or whatever and make it so that it can be placed on titan platform saddles? i am DYING to get a wall of guns on my desert/ice titans

I do enjoy little mods that make my base feel more alive. Ark is such a fun and pretty game with enough mods lol. Good luck and have fun with whatever you end up doin!

Still, I might do some deco stuff down the line. I surprisingly find myself with access to a 3D artist, so provided I can get some art done (or just get off my fat ass and go out with my camera), I might bring some basic urban things (like utility deco boxes) to ARK. It's something I find very missing. Not declaring anything though, time will tell.

Sure. As long as I'm actively playing the game, I'll put in the effort to make it function. If I ever decide to leave the community, I'll open-source the files (though the modification is really tiny, and mostly just editor voodoo with existing assets) so anyone can pick it up and/or integrate it with their mod.

Not planning on leaving anyone hanging. Besides, it's such a tiny mod that it's not an issue, for the most part, and I get to learn something in the process.

I originally planned to have a whole series of "simple" mods (like an "anywhere" water source for irrigation on top of mountains, for example), but ended up mostly scrapping the idea when I saw other mods that already do it better.

It's not a problem. I'll just put a couple more down or move the generator shed closer. I put it a long way away so I couldn't hear the noise (before I found this mod)

Nope, it always had a 1x to 10x range - the original range was just a bit bigger .

You see, I had to sort of rebuild the whole thing, since enough changes have accrued over the years that I was wildly out-of-sync with the codebase. As such, a few things got fixed (like the inventory), but some other things I couldn't get to work again (like the range alteration).

I'll fix it down the line. For now, just live with it if you can.

Okay, so I have confirmation that the issue was caused by the last update (I believe it was v321.10). The developers changed some code pertaining to access restrictions on items, and a lot of mods using copies broke on that code. The inventory is broken (I'm starting to suspect it never worked properly at all, at this point). Ah, well.

At any rate, the generator should work again.

Also, it works really well when you disable collisions and place it underground . That way you don't even have to have it up top!

Gentle reminder: this mod should still be perfectly compatible with everything, and should still work just fine. If it's not working for you, it's an issue somewhere with your set-up.

@Ryshili - it's not all that difficult, actually -- just make a new mod that replaces that particular sound. Of course, making a mod for ARK isn't as simple as it seems to begin with...

Most notably, I wouldn't want to break it for people that use it as a substitute for the original (and expect it not to be build-able where the original wasn't).

@Fanny I don't see why it wouldn't be... Though my ARK servers are usually configured for maximum building - and that includes removal of all restrictions, incl. building restrictions. So... I didn't really know that it can't be installed on platforms. :D

Regardless, if the original TEK generator wasn't meant to be installed on platforms, then I see no reason to change it here. You can modify the game's server settings to allow you to build it literally anywhere.

@HellDog unfortunately I don't know what to tell you... it works for me? It really still works - both when spawned via commands, and when gcm-built. There shouldn't be any shield barrier though, the generator doesn't have one (if you're talking about the blue outline, that's just showing its range - which is wrong btw.).

Unfortunately we were able to find out that the generator no longer works when it is new. when you turn it on there’s just a shield barrier. Could you take care of an update? :)

@krintiz -- I thought about making the electric generator, but this one covers it (it should power electric stuff normally)

@Typhon Perun -- I don't remember... :D Still, it's basically a cheat item (large range, silent, small etc.), so I don't think I even put it in the regular engram list - it's entirely possible that it's not learnable, but then again - I don't remember. I didn't mess around too much with it, so it's possible you need Tek to learn it.

Do players still need to unlock the normal Tek generator to be able to make this item?
