does this still work?

Instead of the +2 Army Cap, I think it'd be better to instead add a +1 to tier 3 settlements, because as it stands this mod just neuters the Tomb Kings. Settra does not garrison, Settra conquers. :lunar2019madpig:

From my experience it's quite the contrary. The AI is trying to protect it's settlements but it doesn't seem to manage that well without garrisons. I mean, I just took a walled province capital that was protected by a single goblin warboss, and that was recruited only when my army closed in.

@ƔALERIUS

From my experience playing the game on higher difficulties the Ai is always garrisoned

Has anyone been able to find a version of this for vanilla?
Valerius Jun 20, 2019 @ 1:45pm
First things first - thanks for the update.

@AI behaviour...
As we're running a long-term session in MP and TW:WH2 is a bitch, when it comes to MP compatibility and mods, I cannot test it myself atm, so is anybody capable of answering the following?

- Does AI (neutral/hostile/friendly empires) adapt* to that new way of defending cities or will it react as if nothing changed?

(This intel is wether written within the description, nor the FAQ.)

Thank you very much! I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Updated.

I hope you would update this mod Venris. :)
Valerius May 22, 2019 @ 4:24am
This actually sounds like a great idea, well done Venris.

Wondering...
Huhm, does the AI attach to that new way to defend cities or will it react as if nothing changed?

Because that new system demands much more additional Generals just for house keeping. ;)

@Xiervak: I had the same problem in vanilla, completely without mods.
Venris  [author] Feb 14, 2019 @ 7:30am
@Xiervak: Not possible, this mod dont edit such tables.

I am having an issue where, if in the diplomacy submenu, sometimes all options to exit will grey out and I cannot leave the diplomatic menu. I can move to other nations but I cannot select any options. So the map works correctly but none of the buttons to interact with other nations (or again, exit) will work. Essentially it gets stuck and I have to ALT+F4 out. Has anyone else seen this and/or have a workaround?

You should add in a light version of some sort. Maybe still leave it so you can have small main garrisons, like a VC settlement might have a single unit of grave guard as like a gate watch or something.

@Venris I'm getting a crash to desktop when entering battle replays. Also after battle replay saves arent poss. I have no other mods, It may be because on vanilla it has a warning saying older saves were recorded using older versions of the game.

May just delete the replay saves and see what happens.

I tried reinstalling the SFO Festag Mod too.

I may have to reinstall the game but first see what you have to say. Thanks for great mod.

Agree with @cstmorr.
The only thing between having no garrisons at all and having stupidly OP garrisons is to bring actual logics and a bit of realism into it. I would definitely keep all and every garrison unit added by military buildings and walls. I believe that only thing which was really OP before was super-strong garrison attached to main city building. These should still provide garrison in ever increasing numbers (growing with city lvl) BUT only limited to basic sword / spear and ranged infantry representing city citizens defending their homes.
No Garrison is fun idea but seeing a single lvl 3 lord taking over major city and razing it kills all the fun.

Very interesting mechanic that I'm looking forward to playing with more. My request would be (for this or a different submod) -- add units back to walls + military buildings. Walls should still have 2-3 units that come with them, especially since they're reducing my income by -10%. A building that trains swordsmen would logically have a unit of swordsmen in it. So a typical settlement may have 3 units and a strongly garrisoned one would have 5-6. Still very difficult to defend, but not prone to silly shenanigans like a lord with no units waltzing in and razing it.

ok thank you @Venris

@[PHNX]Kordarus: Huge gap.
[PHNX]Kordarus Sep 5, 2018 @ 7:18am
I suppose at this point, it was tested already by some of you. Does the -25% and the no additional upkeep per lord makes similar garrison that you could have without this mod or there is a huge gap between these and SFO2 unsubmodded?
Venris  [author] Sep 5, 2018 @ 6:26am
@JL: Yes, without problems.

Does this mod work with the more armies submod?
Venris  [author] Aug 28, 2018 @ 3:09am
Can do.
donschmiddy Aug 28, 2018 @ 2:47am
stupid questioncan you create another mod like this for vanilla too?
Venris  [author] Aug 27, 2018 @ 3:36am
Its opposite, they defend them most of the time.
lbmaian Aug 27, 2018 @ 2:39am
Thanks for the answer. I'm just worried that the AI would just leave most settlements ungarrisoned with this change.
Venris  [author] Aug 27, 2018 @ 2:17am
@Maian: Without any problems.
lbmaian Aug 26, 2018 @ 5:09pm
How does the AI handle this change?
Venris  [author] Aug 24, 2018 @ 11:35am
I think that number of subs say if it should be merged :). Using submod dont hurt. Glad you like it. Have fun!
donschmiddy Aug 24, 2018 @ 8:42am
Let me be the first to say this: great job.
I have been looking for a mod like this for ages. It never made much sense to me to have garrisons that were utterly useless or use one of the slots for a rather annoying garrison building. imho should be merged into main mod.
