Beutiful mod...this and the alternative...i have the alternative subscribed(can't to both at the same time)...but if i may suggest...maybe instead of that half gray...just make the color brighter...let's say fanatic xenophile is green...then xenoplhile could be light green...sometimes and to some colors...that half gray is hard to spot...maybe is just me...i like the colors mentioned by @minurominerwin but i like the center/gestalt of this mod...you could combine both
Fanatic could be darker colors and the 1 point ethic could be lighter color of the fanatic color...
anyways...that's what came in my mind while i was playing...thinking it could be so easy to spot...i tend to play with 3 ethics...Thank you for your mods...beautiful waorks...

Its cool, but I dont like some of the chosen colors. In my opinion, the ethics should be like this:
Military: Red (The fire, the rage)
Xenophile: Green (The life, the variety)
Autoritarian: Blue (The order, the law)
Egalitarian: Yellow (The dreams, the euphoria of utopias)
Xenophobia: White (The Purity of the race and home)

LGBT jokes can be funny if handled well, but as the athour pointed out if thats what you get from a multicolor coding system thats on you.

Hm... I also though about setting militarists as red. But decided to keep close to the original idea. May be I`ll upload a different "alternative version", dunno.

I once color coded some AI extremist empires. My results were red as militarist, green as pacifist, yellow as spiritualists, blue as materialists, orange as authoritarian, purple as egalatarians, teal as xenophiles, and pink as xenophobes. Then white and black as machine and hive minds respectively.

Sadly doesn't work well in the color wheel.
