But I use it all the time in my games. I guess I'll just set the price of damaged books to something super high and never sell them.

The mod changes the prices of the items by a lot (engineering research or ancient book for 100 cats ). So I cannot buy them from the stores anymore since it feels like cheating :(

This mod complements Hisomu's "No More Purchasable Resources" very well. That mod means you can't just go into town and steal all your tech upgrades from vendors anymore. Even palaces will gain you only two or three books a raid. So you have little choice but to recover lost tech from ruins using this mod to piece together the fragments of knowledge, and to choose your techs more wisely in the beginning. Makes things feel a lot more post-apocalypse.

need to remember guys I made this back when the map hadn't been fully released yet. and as stated earlier I have a robotics add on that added AI core crafting... this one is only for the "books"
(tho honestly both are small parts of my main mod which I will not distribute)

I feel like the... Mmm it shouldn't take exactly the same amount of time to recover engineering research as it should take recovering ancient science books and normal books. Maybe reduce the timers on the lower tiers? Maybe 1 hour for books? 2 hours for ancient and 4 hours for engineering? Also, AI core recovery would be amazing. It'd be using REALLY expensive stuff though. and a lot of them. And take a long time to craft. 24 hours.

The crafting recipes for Ancient Science and Engineering Research mess up their prices, making them really cheap. There are stores in the game that provide a one time supply of them, for instance the Tech hunters mechanic store offers 2 Ancient science, and there's quite a lot of stuff in Black Desert City... Other than that, nice mod!

it's not exactly writing down your findings, mod requires you to find damaged books/non-craftable items, which are then combined into a complete book (with a shiny new leather cover...lol)

Heh, i literally just made something like this a couple of days earlier. It pretty much only allowed you to craft boks though since it was just an addon for another mod. But hey i guess the idea of writing down your own findings isn't a new idea i guess.
