As suggested, I started on Medium, with a gearless Lvl 1 hero.
Picked Countess on first try, but that turned out to be a lot harder than I expected.
Second try I picked Barbarian and this went a lot better, still challenging but not impossible. However, I encountered the following problem: As a Barbarian I obviously couldn't spawn towers for the boss wave and there was no tavern either, so the princess got killed and I couldn't do much about it.
Being familiar with DDDK myself, it looks like it requires a huge amount of time and effort to create something like this. I think you did a good job at creating something different.
but it is so funny to do such different stuff

When we got to the end, we could not activate the boss wave. Are we missing something obvious?
