It's up to you whether you want to use Mikero Tools or the Addon Builder in Arma 3 Tools to compile your map. Both work fine for me from my experience.

Awesome! I'm actuallyt looking at the tutorial as we speak, haha. Did you still need to download Mikero Tools? Or is that all mostly in ArmA 3 tools these days?

I actually got the layers of this map straight off the L3DT website sample files which included Mount Saint Helens. I was surprised that it was there for a long time and nobody even did it yet so I decided to give it a go. And creating it didn't take that long since I followed the PMC tutorial for terrain creation which was pretty accurate and straightforward.

How long did it take you learning height maps and all that to put a map together? I'm trying my hand at making a map of a few real world US air bases ive been stationed at.
