Having had so many good mods die out from under me in other games, I really appreaciate your service.
Many thanks again
I hope you will find time to do a couple of updates some time. The Dashboard has saved me many times, bc I can tend to click things away too quickly, and then want to know what that researched item was, or exactly where the leader was working when he retired or died.
Many thanks again for a product that makes Steallaris considerably more enjoyable to play.
If the dashboard is running while you play the game, there is no need to run save parser. It will automatically parses new saves when they are created. The save parser's main purpose is for parsing old saves.
Generally, I am not actively developing on the dashboard, just maintaining it, but I will make some notes for your requests, for next time I'm working on the dashboard (probably when Stellaris 4.2 / "Infernals" DLC releases).
For RFI-1, you can manually delete the db file, and that game should stay deleted as long as you don't rerun the save parser (which you shouldn't need to, per my response to your first question).
1 more question and 4 RFI.
Q) Do I need to run the saves parser every time I start the app?
RFI-1) If I moved saves from their original location to save them and remove clutter, the parser leave all the old data in place as if they were still there. It would be nice if the parser would clean everything up.
RFI-2) Please change the messages for research to "Starting research..." and "Completed research..."--currently only says "The {Nation} researched the ...", which is wrong anyway, because that is when the research starts not ends.
FRI-3) The filter button which there are don't indicate whether they are active or not. Would be good...
Last, but not least...
RFI-4) Option to sort the messages newest first or oldest first. Mostly I am interested in the latest messages, not the oldest.
Many thanks. Dashboard has save me many times when I've clicked a notification message to quickly. Life saver.
Make sure you're also running the pre-4.0 version of the external dashboard program.
Can I ask if there's a legacy version for Stellaris 3.14 somewhere? I did see your github, but only the dashboard versions were available.
There's also now a patch for UI Overhaul Dynamic: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3481162411
@Sherekmate isn't there a graph already for market prices? Or do you mean something else?
@cdcool If you're using UI Overhaul Dynamic or a similar mod, there's no in-game dashboard button. If not, it should be at the bottom right (see the screenshot in the description). Note: that button simply opens up the Steam overlay browser. There's not been a browser in Stellaris itself for many versions now.
- Added "Attacker War Goal" and "Defender War Goal" to the war details in the history ledger
- Listed non-primary (eg subject, overlord) war participants in the war details in the history ledger
- Added an Empire Size graph now in the Economy tab
- Existing users: you need to delete your config.yml file or edit it to include "empire_size_graph" in your "tab_layout"
- link from galaxy map to country event ledger
- link from galaxy map to system event ledger (this one already existed for a while, but the instructional text didn't display)
This release also adds some warnings in the UI when the dashboard detects configuration issues.
You need to download the latest version of the program from GitHub to get these fixes.
@Jeor Yeah, UIOD changes the same file this mod does. You can still access the dashboard in a web browser by entering http://localhost:28053 in the address bar
You can reach out to me in the #stellaris-dashboard channel Stellaris Modding Den discord server for help. There's an invite link in my July 2 comment here.
Also:
New info and events for leaders:
- home planet, country of origin, ethic, background job
- ethic changed event
- leader left country event (not too common in vanilla, but can happen with Civil Wars mod)
- leader governed planet event
- fixed leader governed sector event
- fixed galcom/federation representation events
Option to view other players' info in MP
Faster save processing
Better Microsoft OneDrive support
Improved settings UI
In the next release, I'll make it default to that if OneDrive is being used, and automatically correct the settings for existing users
