Most people make a separate model with a left-sided mouth, so if you want to do that, go ahead; it's probably better for these Sega-style models. But I do own Sonic models that have both mouths bodygrouped for convenience.

ah... exactly what i was wondering! can i make it
a bodygroup even with it having flexes? thats what i was
stuck with i was thinking about making a shape key to hide the right mouth and showing the other
mouth or.... just making a separate model with a left side.....
