Ok, thanks. I will take a look and see about updating the batch file. Mostly likely only affects WotC.

I'm not much of a coder but now that I am taking a second look at the issue I'm pretty sure this isn't AML's fault. What happened is that the CookedPCConsole file the .bat was looking for was not in its usual spot. It seems to have been moved to something like ' Users/user/document/MyGames/XCOM2 WOTC '. So what I did was placed CookedPCConsole back in its old spot so the .bat would send the files and then moved it back to its new position and that got everything to work. That's about as much as I know about this issue.

@nintendoeats Thanks a bunch! After a bit of fiddling with it a bit (I assume because I used the alternate mod launcher to play) I managed get everything to work like a charm. I always thought that these sorts of adaptive soundtracks go under-appreciated so I am glad someone put the work in on making something that makes the most of X-COM 2's audio middle-ware. Excellent Mod.10/10

Unfortunately because Wordpress has opinions they have to be stored in zip files now, but what we can do.

Since none of the links have been restored can I assume that this mod has been discontinued? If so that's a shame, because it looked very interesting.

the link to the bat file does not work; it says "this item was deleted"

I've just been playing with a wide mix of packs (including one of ∑3245's), and I don't feel that the overall mix of this pack is abnormally loud. If anything, I find it a bit quiet in spots relative to the actual sound effects. On that basis, I am disinclined to lower it any further. However, I appreciate the feedback.

Okay, it does need to go down a couple more decibles. My recommendation is to grab as many of ∑3245's packs (i.e. Mass Effect, the assorted Metal Gear Solids, XCOM EU, etc.) and use those as your balance reference, seeing as those seem to be the standards

My first impression is that it's better (Maybe another 1 or 2) but I'll have to wait for my volume meter brother to get home to know for sure

@SabaraOne I dropped the entire thing by 7dB, let me know what you think.

@SabaraOne That is fair, it was tested largely in isolation. I had been thinking about dropping the volume a bit at one point. I will look at doing that.

Actually, I have noticed one problem. Thiis pack seems to be mixed quite loudly, especially compared to other packs (e.g. the MGR Revengence pack, the Doom 2016 pack, and the Metroid Fusion pack)

It's a tough call for favorite XCOM 2 music pack between this one and the Metal Gear Rising pack. I still haven't decided.

I'm imagining some college student getting very high and playing X-Com2 on this one.

Just FYI: My WOTC .bat file was returning an error where the system couldn't locate the filepaths specified. My CookedPCCConsole folder is located inside the XComGame folder, so opening it up in Notepad++ and inserting \XComGame into the filepaths before CookedPCCConsole resolved the issue.

@SabaraOne That sounds like a curious situation. In this case it wouldn't have helped, I had the much more basic problem that I accidentally wiped out my Dropbox a few weeks ago (not a big deal, I barely use it). I know that the links in my guides are down as well, but those will take some actual effort to fix.

Thanks. A little tip I've found helps, Recurring reminders on your phone. If you can figure out the link interval, set one to go off a little before and redo it. That little stunt single-handedly saved me from failing at least one class (Long story).

@bstar: Look in my MMS guide below in the section labled Cue / Situation Descriptions. That's everything that MMS does. You don't need the stings or the seperate Alien/XCom stuff, they are just optional. Note that the "Dropship" option isn't great and is the only feature that I removed when making Wwise Mms.

That guide looks neat and more importantly idiot-proof, thanks. I hope I'll get around to it this weekend. What kind of different track "categories" do you usually use for music packs (that don't use the complex dynamic system you're using for this pack)? Strategy layer, tactical layer, combat, non-combat, stealth, etc.? Just so I know what kind of tracks I need to pick.

I know that if I start in on it I will start saying things like "Hey, if I snipped this bit out I could lay it on top of this other one!" and turn an afternoon's project into something that takes me a few weeks (like what happened with my Blood pack). If the tracks are amenable, it really isn't all that difficult. When all else fails, make sure that the tempos match on both ends and crossfade one bar. Even MMS supports having a separate intro, so you can have a version of that bar which both is and is not crossfaded.

Since synthwave is mostly electronic music, it's probably not that difficult to loop. I'm not really familiar with music editing software though, is it hard to get into? I could give it a try or at least send you a list of tracks that I think would fit.

Considering how much of my life was sunk into making Wwise Mms, I definitely plan to make more. Right now it is the expanded SS version that I mentioned, but I have a whole list I want to do after that. I am familiar a bit with the genre, I've yet to hear anything that speaks to me personally. However, if somebody were to provide me with pre-existing loops I could throw them together in a new pack pretty easily (potentially both kinds, standard MMS packs without fancy looping are very quick).

Hey nintendoeats, this sounds absolutely awesome! I can't wait for a WOTC release; I really hope you find a way to make it work.

In case you're planning on making more music packs, have you considered the synthwave/new retro genre? I think it could go really well with XCOM's atmosphere.

Just to give you an example of how this would be less jarring than an MMS pack, if you continually bounce between the HQ and Geoscape screens you will hear the change between those tracks as a single continuous composition.
