This vehicle is ugly, in a mean-looking kinda way. I spawned it in in Creative after seeing it on Haystack's "UIMC" video 'cause I was curious. For the mats and the level, this is actually an incrediably well designed ship! Typical XCaliber with the excellent access to everything and cargo boxes from multiple levels. The vehicle bay is a "working man's" bay AND it has what we all need, but folks rarely put in -- a secondary pilot cockpit right near the bay for those "holy sh*t!!" escape and evade moments. And the wrap-around view in the main pilot chair rocks. Well done, man!

Dude... I love this ship! This is way beyond a midgame CV, I could endgame in this if I had to and be comfortable doing it.

Still playing with it and tweaking it to get it just right for me but it comes in as the most perfect mid-game CV I can imagine. Thank you for the lower cockpit btw, so nice to see it come in with one instead of having to throw a makeshift one in.

So many other features I just love, not the least of which, it's like flying my skeletool around without the trees, rocks and mountains lol.

Going to give it a try. I'm usually out for a few weeks scouting the system while I mine so the farm is a plus! I'll let you know how it goes.

I thought about upgrading blocks on the rebar and even adding a layer on the bottom where I usually have the most damage but I hate to put that much resources into a ship I use for midgame only. Also, I always stick more harvest boxes on it and the only (safe) place there is room for them is either the bay or on top the cockpit area, this one has more space in it.

Looking forward to trying it! in the factory now :)

Hey Ranger! This would be the one I wound recommend. It is a bit tougher. It also has allot more function as it can hold your Drill Pup MUT and has a full Garden with 36 grow plots. The drill spacing shouild work just as well and has allot more defense.

On a side note, the REBAR starts out at just Steel blocks but can be upgraded to Combat Steel for much better survivability. To upgrade use your multi tool and choose the Upgrade option. When you shoot the block it will tell you what you need to upgrade it :)

Hiyas Xcal! I am looking for a midgame drill and transport ship to replace the Drill Pup Rebar I typically use for the same purpose. I really love the Rebar because it's such a great driller but I've lost it so many times because it's so soft. One space cannon hit in it and you end up stranded on the nearest planet. That usually turns into a fun side track adventure but I want to avoid it this playthough if I can.

I'm thinking this one looks a lot tougher, is it? Also, does it have the same drill spacing as you used on the Rebar? The Rebar spacing is just perfect for asteroids which is what makes it such a wonderful miner!

Take your multi tool Tier 2 and choose upgrade. When you shot a block it will tell you what’s needed in bottom right. Thanks!

Awesome thanks Hawk! I was under the impression I relsolved that issue. You may have an edition prior to that fix. I will investigate and resolve if the issue still presents. Thanks again and am glad you're enjoying it

I have been using the Forge and it works quite well. I do have one suggestion however. In the crop room next to the elevator where the food processors and fridges are there is a heat issue. This is because they are right next to the generators. I suggest moving the two generators down one block and moving the RCS to the top of the generator. I think this will solve the heat issue in the crop room.

Again, I am new at Empyrion so I may be incorrect. Thank you for posting your ship designs, they make the game much for fun for me and they are an excellent template to learn how to build ships.

Ahh ok, thank you. The fact that it is labled "Offline" confused me. I thought that was something like the offline raid protection.

I would go to the device menu and ensure that the stock Grav gen is on. As a practice always hold down the O key before leaving chair in space, so you level out the vessel to the proper plane.

As a follow on, I have the same problem with the upper captain's chair too. When I exit the chair I am upside down. Odd... very odd.

XCaliber, thanks for the reply. I do have a question however and please keep in mind I am quite new at Empyrion.

I built the Forge and I was piloting it from the lower captain's chair next to the hanger (excellent idea by the way). When I got into orbit I left the chair and I was clipping through the structure. I did this a few times, I even exited and restarted the game but the result was the same. I built a gravity generator in the hanger and now I can exit the chair with no issues.

I don’t know what I could be doing to cause this. I assume that no one else is having problems piloting from the lower captain’s chair? Does the gravity generator have a range?

A very clever and quite useful ship design. I am going to use it on my current playthough as I think it will make an excellent mobile base. I do have one suggestion. I had to add a gravity generator since I would like to try launching SV ships from space.

Nice. Yes this was designed to be built after using the Kukri Early Survival to do some quick snatch n grabs of prem ore on foreign planets. Once built it will serve to replicate your entirety to different planets.

This looks very intriquing! That Neodymium ammount mandates some warping around and risky mining on foreign planets with starter vehicles. I'll give it a shot in another save. Setting this save up to try a couple of tweaks to your Tanks -vs- some POIs.

Screenshots DO NOT do this justice. It is sooo much more spacious and has much more in it than the pictures would make you believe.

Plenty of room for extra customization or min-maxing if you want to cram more goodies into it.

Also, I LOVE the elevators underneath as entrances / exits to get out.
