It's an awesome mod, until you found out 100% of the Medkit mod come with the world models. Fortunately, I know how to unpack and repack vpk files, but unfortunate to those who can't.

I suggest you make couple of side-addon for the medkit just so it could run without any conflict.

Or, you can edit addon.txt, place your mod ID above the custom medkit mod ID, save and turn the file to "read only". It's the quickest solution but the biggest pain in ass too.
So i don't know how to open your mod, or what programs exacly i need.
But i understand your mod better now, and i think you should change the description from
"(...) every kit model / skin on the workshop "should" be compatible with my backpack."
to
"(...) every kit model / skin on the workshop WONT be compatible with my backpack, and you have to place it in right order ABOVE your custom medkit mod. Here is a solution how..." etc.
Otherwise it is misleading discription.

it will conflit and it is normal since the default medkit has a worldmodel too, this mod replace the worldmodel ( thirdperson ) but not the first person model, if you want to have this mod and a custom first person model, try to subscribe in a differnet order , so the load order is different

It seems your medkit-backpack mod is conflicting with any medkit mod i tried, including with the First Aid Kit form Division :/ Unfortunately, the L4d2 mod launcher places Backpack mod BELOW the other medkit.

When I used this along with the 'dark zone bag' mod it wasn't compatible, however that just took a few minutes to fix by simply unpacking the mod file and dropping in the viewmodel and resources from the other mod into this one, making my own custom version of it. It's a very nice mod overall in comparison to the other 'packpack medkit' mods on t he workshop. Thank you for making this.

y you need to edit the 2 addons if still not work :

1st : look at wokshop guide how to open/edit vpk

2nd : open scream addon and delete in model folder the worldmodel folder.

3rd : open my addon and move all the folders/files of scream addon into mine

4th : make a vpk addon and move it to addon folder, done.

I subscribe to scream's medkit with yours and it still says there's a conflict between them and i can only bring one of them. Any advice?

This needs a failry rng system, and becomes basically the best mod out here :p

Maybe check addon conflict, of curse survivors have to equip medkit.

I guess it doesn't work. The medkit backpack doesn't appear on the survivors.

@ david, this is just a medkit if you want to activate thirdperson , search thirdperson in workshop.

Yeah, funny thing, I didn't really like the division as a game, but I loved the apocalypse design the game had cause it looked modern. I'm glad you chose that inspiration when designing the first aid backpack cause it looks great.

I understand you, that's why i love "the division" game design / concept, the clothes, backpacks ..etc they give a really realistic survivor feeling as "left 4 dead 3" could have been. So i tried to port to l4d2 and do more like these.

Okay, I'll eagerly wait then. It's just rare to come by item related mods that look more realistic and cool at the same time if that makes sense. Like if you compare the base game First Aid to this, the base game first aid looks... kind of silly, as do the rest of the stock items in the game.

You make really good mods, have you considered doing pills, adrenaline, and throwables? Or even a more realistic looking defib? Realistic as in survivor-esq style like this first aid kit. I kind of want that theme for all my items and the quality you make is fantastic. I still only use this first aid kit mod honestly.

@ charles sure it's the alternative way for those who know how to do it :), be sure to keep and merge both materials folders.

I'm using the payday 2 medkit and this backpack, but I opened the payday 2 vpk with GCF scape and deleted the world model folder, and both addons work without problem, I'm telling this because I used to have the same problem, just like Super3dBoy

@ Super3dBoy, try this , subscribe my addon first , then the kit you want, in this order.

I can't see the backpack if the medkit is enabled.

@ Super3dboy , it will conflict with every medkit on the workshop ( red in addon list ) but should still works without problem.

This conflicts with the Dead By Daylight Medkit.

@ soul , yeah , i need to figure how to make it , i'll look on custom addons to see how it's done.

I like it, but im kinda bummed that it doesn't provide with custom weapon placement when primary weapons are holstered.

This is the best medkit replacement I've seen personally, instant favorite. I like how it's not an oversized bag, but it's not overly small either, it's just the right size and looks like it has realistic "survivor" supplies in it.
