Its nice that some of the old is braught into the new. Its like the classic VOX. Black mesa is an incredible game and acheivement and the workshop allows us to ad stuff and experiment at will with. Just cos the old charger sound is from the original game does not mean it shouldnt be in the new game. For me its about mixing the old and new and creating something better which is exactlly what Black Mesa is. Its a new game made from the old one.

ExplodingJellyfish => it's not that hard to make an sound replace it's almost drag'n drop the files, you only need the game.

I wasn't born when HL1 came out, im 18 years old, but I still played Half-Life 1. And Im not trying to troll, im asking a genuine question. Why go through all the troubles to add old sounds and graphics to the new game, when you could just play the old game? I mean, if you love the old graphics and gameplay, just play Half-Life 1. Its got all the good old gameplay, graphics, and sound effects that you want. Whats the purpose of putting it into the new game instead of just playing the game where it came from with no troubles of moving it over? Whats the benefit?

That's not my point though. I love Black Mesa, I think it's an incredible game, but I miss some of the old sounds and I feel some of them are more fitting, so this mod provides the option to add in old sounds. That's like saying someone who doesn't like the game's music should just go back to the original game.

But then... wouldn't you just play Half-Life? Why replace the new with the old when you can just play the old just fine?

I don't know, I just personally prefer the older sounds, I'm not a fan of some of the newer ones. I'm not the first one to make a sound mod like this, either, there's tons of other mods replacing the new stuff with the old stuff.

Wait... if you want the classic stuff... then why not just play Half-Life?

It's better than anything i could do but one question. Why? the entire point of Black Mesa is to be an HD remake and you want to make it more like the version you already have and some would argue is the better version.

That image is a bit misleading, as I thought this changed the textures/model of the Black Mesa health charger to the HL1 one. I recommend adding like a speaker icon or something to clarify. Other than that, this is a good mod. :)
