They can go in any region, they have a chance to steal loot from Curios tagged as "Scrounging"

If the mercenaries go into a dungeon other than the Farmstead, will they take gold or gems as loot? Looking at the code for that quirk it wasn't clear to me.

My mercenaries have resolve 3, apparently they lose xp after a complete a mission.

What happens if the hero with the Mercenary quirk dies in a quest, do they go in the graveyard? (Sorry I had to edit it)

Possible bug: You can get rid of the Mercenary quirk via quirk removing curios.

Update 1.1:
Mercenaries now receive more stress in DD
Changed background image
Changed colour of quirk name

Once you take the mercenaries to the Darkest Dungeon, they no longer count torwards the 4 mercenary limit. It's also VERY possible to defeat the game within the first few weeks with this mod by rushing the Darkest Dungeon. 10/10

remove modfiles.txt file from there
remove string "roster_limit": 4 from mods\1420598259\shared\quirk\mercenaries.quirk_library.json
or edit starting quirks in mods\1420598259\campaign\town\buildings\stage_coach\com.stage_coach.building.json

If a uninstall the mod and a merc becomes a shard merc will they get boosted to level 6 or will they still be at 5?

yep
doing so will remove mercenary quirk
if you have com dlc enabled then the quirk will become shard hungry mercenary

oh, I see. Maybe just remove mercenaries completely then? For people who wanna play CoM like part of usual campaign, but get stress damage from unestetic swap button (so - cant just ignore them), lol

normal stage coach can't spawn with specific quirk

or remove dem completely, dunno

Well I finished the first farm quest by now.

You need to finish first farm quest for Shard Mercenaries to appear
With this mod you need to finish very first ruin quest, aka tutorial.

I actually never encountered a shard Hungry mercenary for now-
though I will see how those execute for now before manually instaling this mod

Yep, similar to Shard Hungry Mercenaries from CoM, but they can go in any region, and slightly worse overall. You actually can levle up them with +xp trinkets
