Weird, right now I'm using custom weapons sounds without any issues. And no, I have no plans for making weapon sounds addons for now.

Do you plan on adding sounds for any weapons? And do items in the addons folder of Alien Swarm override things on the workshop? The reason why I ask this is because I tried making custom sounds for the assault rifle which worked, but it reverted the model to default.

The assault rifle and/or the Combat Rifle? Maybe the assault rife, since it's the most common.
