So it works in
* Desert arena
* Jims playground arena
* Basically any arena map that takes the script directly from the og files
but it doesnt work in
* Fountain of the death arena
basically because this one uses a custom arena script, since it uses jims custom weapons as part of the script
I have talked with kavika about this, but the Devs are now focusing on their new game and will therefore not further expand on the coop experiences for OverGrowth..
Could you instead maybe make the camera-angle controllable in the splitscreen-arenas, since this would make a great difference when plying coop, or is that also engine-based?
Again thank you for making this mod and also for keeping it updated :)
You should let the devs know that this issue bothers you by requesting this feature in the #suggestions channel over at the Wolfire Discord. [discord.gg]
Any chance that you will ever try to make sound for both players?
Since now the sound is only played from 1# player.. The Devs have given up on polishing the coop experience at all, so as is - only your mod makes the game any fun, but i still would love to have sound from/on both players :)
When 1# player dies the sound is recorded from 2# player, so it must be registred somewhere, but I simple cannot make both active, and I have tried looking in the "aschar-file" if I remember correctly? :)
Your mod is the only reason me and my friend play this game :)
The fastest way to get help from people that actually have the know-how is to join the Wolfire Discord [discordapp.com].
It would probably be possible. The way it works now is it just adds another player to the arena, I guess you could try and just add more players depending on how many controllers are connected. (you'd have to delete them after each round too, that could create errors/problems)
you can check out the scripts I overwrote at
<steam install dir>\steamapps\workshop\content\25000\1386129053\Data\Scripts
I suggest looking through arena_level.as first because it is way less complicated than multi_arena.as iirc.
Remember to put the controller in before starting the game and then start with vanilla arena´s - not any mod-arene.
Exept the crete arene mod which also have sound that works for 2nd player in splitscreen - no idea why :)
btw it sometimes put both controls on 1st player if you use versus mode while having this mod activated (in my experience anyway)
Hope this helps cuz this mod is f*ing awesome with a friend :)
No, you shouldn't have to buy a steam controller. It should work with a keyboard and an USB-controller.
Try the "Wolfire Versus" Mod which got shipped with the game. If it doesn't work there then it could be a problem related to some operating system configuration or sth like that which I don't really know anything about since I don't play with a controller.
Thank you very much!! :)
Added "always CO-OP" option to SETTINGS -> GAME.
Have fun.
And when you do, please also look into making a coop and a versus option :)
This mod is amazing, and maybe the Devs should have made this themself, but the fact that you made it is simple god-like ;) Thank you!
If only I could be on the same team as my friend every time :)
Shouldn't be the case, I just think the probability is low. Even if you'd get a team fight with 4 fighters every third attempt, the chance that the 2nd player would end up in your team is just 33%, which results in an overall 11.1% chance that the 2 players fight on the same team, if my math is correct.
If not, this is just a versus-mode in the arena levels.. Please make this a "coop" mod!! :)
I am so happy to see this mod :) thank you
