I tend to focus more on food / shelter in early game - so this guy, with garden space already set up meant once I bought some starter plants from Talon farm merchant, I could have a steady supply of corn, wheat, spice and sugar : )

Thought I would add a note - this base may be legacy but it is fairly easy to make simple updates. I replace many of the wood blocks with cement (and added "distressing" paint job to make it look like it was cobbled together out of recycled parts.) I have never understood the "player" mounted guns (probably due to bad experiences in early alphas, where if you "manned" a gun during a drone attack, you died.) So I replaced them with "normal" turrets - for a total of three. The cpu cost difference was minimal, but they do struggle a bit with drone and Xirax troop ship attacks.

And your new "survival / no-workshop" series is also very helpful. (After the odd false start / semi-edited episode #1.) Watching you build an impressive HV, from scratch, changed my view on HV's. May have to set an alarm to get up at 3:00 AM to watch the next episode (I am in the same time zone, but "internet challenged".

Terrific starter base that plays well with other BPs from XCaliber. Can easily be expanded to recreate his other base BPs so you retain your investment. Used this on patch 9.0 Arid, Hard start and it easily defeated first wave of drones, just remember to make Ammo right after placing base.

Hey tlnovotny! No worries. It's for coverage from blind spots mainly and protection from ground forces that the top turret wont have angle on

I like this one, and used it as a starter base on my last play through for PVE solo play. It also makes a great outpost for a moon. I saved a modified a version with a huge landing pad for my mobile base CV, just for a level place to park and get repairs. Thanks!

Ah yeah was talking about ammo in the box. Thought it could spawn the ammo if you had it loaded in creative. yeah that would be nice feature!

Hey X-SR71. Thanks for the compliment! Given the size of the base and the new medical expansion moving the scanners from deco to funtional unlocks, it's looking more important to have these. I had to remove them from my builds initially because people were complaining about the plastic. On the main -Whet Stone- Suvival base there are 4 spaces on the top above constructors for med scanners to be placed. On the Grit here I had to forgo that space due to the solar panel on top. If you remove that panel you can place blocks and then free up that space to add the scanners. I love the scanners and in my personal -Whet Stone- I have them. Hope this helps :)

I like your style and how you reserve space for future upgrades, but in both this and - Early Survival- you haven't considered a space for a future medic station. Any reason for that?

When you mean Ammo ready to go...you mean does it have an ammo box, Yes it does...can't place items in actual bps though so impossible to provide ammo with a Bp...would that be cool though

Does it come with ammo ready to go? Something I found that is needed at times with a quick drop base.
