If the problem is neither of these leave a comment with more detailed information on your particular issue.
Per the Vampire: I've always believed that early ancient era units should be more powerful because of the short time they are available the lack of early inter civ warfare, but I've also come to realize that because I usually playtest civs at Quick speed I've a problematic bias which is what lead to Bonnibel being so overpowered at first. I'll increase it's cost in the next update.
Per the Concert Hall: The number of specialists was actually supposed to be reduced with the last update, but I had forgotten. I wanted to replace a non-culture building and give it an Artist Slot and I felt that it made sense for a nation of music lovers to prefer informal concerts to the theatre and it made sense for it to be discovered at Acoustics. I actually forgot about the Opera completely. I like that the concert hall gives happiness but the Opera doesn't.
2) It's interesting that you make the Concert Hall a replacement for the Theatre instead of the Opera House, and then also make it available with Acoustics instead of Printing Press - are you intentionally trying to let a Nightosphere player double-up on buildings with just one technology? That being said, I think +20% great people generation and 2 artist specialists might be a tiny bit on the strong side - maybe if it were +10% and 2 specialists, or +20% and 1 specialist?
As for your LSP idea Luxory resources are random so traits that only effect a handful of them tend to be inconsistent. Perhaps a trait that effects all luxories might work. While I hate reusing diplomacy penalties as a trait, God knows LSP deserves it. What do you think of double luxories and -66% city state influence? May need more penalties to balance it.
For an LSP trait. Maybe something about getting double output from gems/gold/silver resources and double (if not triple) loss of relationship points with City States since she can be rather abrasive.
I thought of using demons, but that raises the question of why warrior demons are special considering all of the Nightospheres soldiers are demons. I actually tried to create a land version of prized ships at one point, but it can't be modified to work with land units.
As for LSP, I've thought of it, but I cannot think of a trait or playstyle for her. If anyone can think of something I can make it happen.
So... when are you going to make Lumpy Space a playable Civ?
I've taken quite a liking to the Vampire as well. You shouldn't be anxious when upgrading to swordsmen. You can continue to build vampires and upgrade them for a while after researching swordsmen and they only lose the culture bonus from kills after upgrading.
Playing as Marceline: I love the vampire unit, I loved it so much that when the time to came to upgrade it I felt a slight anxiety to do so. The lifesteal was helpful to clear my initial realm of barabarian's by letting me focus on moving around instead of fortifying and recorving after every fort. My first Great Person spawn, from just spawn not policy, was a Great Artist which amused me since I barely get any of those with other civilizations I play. Her quick culture grabs made for easily expanding policies towards a Utopian Victory. Against more military minded civilizations I found myself letting them move on by and hoped they would leave my corner of the world alone so I could continue to building up my defenses before they ultimatly would target me. All in all, I found it enjoyable to play as Marceline the Vampire Queen.
I shall return shortly with a feedback on playing against her.
