I've used this mod for a while but I've recently discovered that the original menu music is included with the game already. If you navigate to 'Sound > stream' in the game's files, you can find two items named 'open' and 'xopen'. 'open' is the original, while 'xopen' is the expansion version. Calling 'xopen' something else and renaming 'open' to 'xopen' restores the original AoK menu music.

I like how the HD game removed the snowy village backround, yet didn't bother to change the background noise so you hear people crunching through snow.

Oh hey, my solution is up here =D. I'm glad it's helping people.
Also I got it working, thanks for this. The original menu music is SO much better than the XP's was.
