@disgust: right click on the model and select Body Groups: they're there ;)
A simple fix for that would be to get AutoRigger, it'll make making IK rigs simple
There's only one thing that bothers me: the incompatibility with the rig_biped_simple command. I'm no model creator, so i've got zero knowledge in that area...but are you considering the idea of inserting it? This could greatly help in my opinion, especially when you need to move hands or legs and you want them in certain positions.
