Audacity. And goldwave . I had to combine with different sounds manually to create different effects hope this helps

Hey i was just wondering. What do you use to extract and edit the sounds?

my bucket list things to do! would be keen on firing an mg42 before die at least . i would think a realistic fps ww2 type would not be as popular thanks to hollywood brothers in arms was fantastic but to kill an enemy solider was so darn fustrating. and it would be one of the more realistic ww2 games ive played, which i thought was on the tipping end of realism which is good and boring if it isnt used correctly.

DoI does do a lot of things somewhat realistically, but I guess you just need to not look too closely. There's a few guns here and there that are on the wrong maps and such, or they have weird equipment that probably wasn't used. Real flamethrowers were much more dangerous than they are in-game too (to both the operator and the target), and they shot a whole lot farther.

What I'd like is a game that does realistic gun sounds, but again I suppose that's not very cinematic; if they were realistic, you wouldn't be able to hear anything over the sound of them, and you probably wouldn't hear the nice clean sounds that are easily distinguished. It'd really make you feel like you have a dangerous gun though. I went out shooting a 1917 enfield the other day that shoots the same bullet that the garand does, and it's definitely not quiet, that's for sure.

i agree. i do like the hollywood type effects.doi leans heavily towards realism which is what i like but theres a fun aspect that needs to be considered take for eg sniper elite and tom clancys the division i thought they were rather fun gimmicks. fury was a good example too. the sound designers amped the effects to give he spectators a over exagerrated idea of tank battle.i dont know tge science in the pressure of the tanks or what gas is used. but u guess if both were penetrated both in one hit it coukd cause an explosion im just say that purely becuase i watched a youtube clip of 4 lpg bottles shot and the explosion was devastating. thanks for the useful info :steamhappy:

Apparently in real life, it was extremely unlikely for a flamethrower to explode into flame like they show on movies and stuff; both tanks would have to be shot and their contents mixed together for that to happen, I guess. What would happen instead was that the tanks would violently burst if punctured, because they were made of very thin metal under pressure that was in the hundreds of PSI. If you got shot, your tank probably wouldn't catch fire OR leak, it would probably instead burst and destroy you and anyone in your immediate surroundings with shreds of metal shrapnel.

I suppose that would be slightly less cinematic than what you see in-game, but from a game-mechanic standpoint I feel like it would be a bit more interesting :FireStrike:

It's little things like these that make the game a little more enjoyable than it already is.
