@Tatchoira The worse problem with bots is, their guns are constantly sticking out of walls or fences. Sometimes they even shoot like that.

Shame the bots don't practice muzzle control anyway so they keep muzzle flagging each other.

Still, nice touch, makes carbines more appealing for cqb.

@Ramiro_Ryan even if it's not a big performance cost, it's still going to add a lot of problems for the AI. Imagine this - the AI ​​encounters an obstacle and automatically lowers/raises its weapon, but, if at that moment AI will see an enemy, then it will need to shoot! It will shoot at the floor or the ceiling!

No one mod maker will ever be able to teach an AI to move away from an obstacle, if ithis AI needs to shoot.

@Ramiro_Ryan -doubtful. That is an engine level problem allowing models to clip thru collision geometry. Can a mod make constant check for things like this? Doubtful as ,most likely insanely expensive cpu-wise. Unfortunate but probably better in next build (Reforger)

Have you tried applying this to the AI? Will it consume a lot of performance? It would solve the problem of AI shooting through walls. It happens when it aims at a wall and the barrel penetrates it, the AI detects it has a clear shot and fires.

Agree with @Hoplite, please, fix this annoying bug. I think it's better to auto-disable the mod when player's armed (and ready to fire) with AT launchers.

@Hoplite I can confirm this. I already reported this to the author a year or two ago, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone. Probably we should be happy with what we have.

CBA Addon Options for this mod are seemingly broken. You're using spaces in the variable names which seems to break saving the settings on a server, as well as forcing settings on the server or in the mission.

Also, there is a bug with the launchers and wall detection.
Steps to reproduce :
- Use a unit with a launcher in its inventory.
- Take your primary Weapon.
- Go into a wall to trigger the tactical ready animation.
- Switch to your launcher while still in the tactical ready animation.
--> The launcher gets glitched in tactical ready animation, you can't use it, and you can't switch back to your primary.

At first I thought it was a minor bug and I didn't bother, but last mission we did, we failed to destroy 3 vehicles because of it, and that caused problems.

Could you resolve this in a future update ?

I don't know what the going rate is for commissions, but I for one would throw down some cash if there was ever someone out there who knew how to do this. The game needs more "casual" animation sets for regular combat and non-combat. Ready poses just are too tactical for most scenarios, and most factions.

Historically, for any 20th century scenario, they're just plain wrong. But that's besides the point.

I agree with musclebust. I know this is a big gameplay change, but ARMA isn't a boomer shooter like quake, where you run and gun. The shooting is a formality, its all about positioning.

To that end, animations need to be tailored towards movement, not shooting, since that's what you'll be doing 99% of the time, and because the movement precedes and proceeds brief moments of combat.

This mod is just about ready stances, but I'd like to see a mod that allows you to unsholder your gun completely. The high ready is close, but not universal.

Alot of heavy weapons simply can't be effectively shouldered, either because of length, weight, recoil or a combination of the 3.

SWATing around a battlefield, miles from any building (most of the terrain in this game) necessitates a different animation set from what we have vanilla, but there is no stable mod for it yet.

I was wondering if its possible to have the "Ready" thats bound to T, have it work in a way where when i hold down a button it leaves the animation and when i relase the button it goes back into this animation?

Think of it like Resident Evil where the weapon is allways in the "Ready" state, and when you hold down right mouse click he aims, you can then shoot, but as soon as you release the right mouse button the gun goes back to the "Ready" state.

I know there is a mod that lets you turn on the laser and its only on whilst the button is held down.

Were any of Tirpitiz's version additional features and tweaks implemented on this version?

For example changes to localized variable names, automatic detection of friendlies, allegedly better optimization, etc.

These bugs were added in the latest update (February 6) The previous version ot this mod 1.3.6 does not have problems in repro 1 and 2. only there were glitches with animation, after changing the disposable grenade launcher (repro 3)

Repro1:
1. Put yourself on the map as an AT soldier
2. Get maximal close to the building or other obstracle.
3. When the your primary weapon will lowered, change your weapon to the launcher and you will get a weapon lock. You won't be able to shoot or aim at all!

Repro2:
1. Put yourself on the map as an AT soldier
2. Switch to the launcher
3. Get as close as possible to the building or other obstracle, your launcher will lower
4. move away from the obstacle and you will again get a launcher lock

Repro3:
1. Place an RHS unit with a one-shot grenade launcher on the map
2. shoot him
3. Change weapons to primary and you will see animation glitches.

@LAxemann and @Patch guys thanks for Great mod, but I found a bug. If a player with a launcher in their hands gets close to an obstacle, then the player will lower the launcher, that's great! But when the player moves away from the obstacle, he will no longer be able to raise the launcher back. He will no longer be able to aim from this launcher. Animation with arms down is stuck! There is only one way to exit such an animation, change the weapon from the launcher to any other weapon and return back. Please fix this issue!
