The bad performance in this map is because it's a very open map and I didn't have access to everything I needed to optimize it well (viscluster tools and all). Maybe the props have a hand in it, but it should be minimal compared to that.

I mean, of course with the higher-quality assets and newer source engine version it'd be hard to port, but some of the other ported maps (e.g. hammer valley) that had fewer physprops, I found had much better performance, seemed to be reaching at least 60fps.
For example, that pile of buckets being entirely phys props interacting with each other seems like it's going to be a massive performance nightmare.

I don't think that's because of phys_props, INFRA maps are hard to port with good performance in general.

This is a great port although I don't think it should have as many props converted to physprops; it performs really badly.

I've written a script for it, and I'd say it works 90% of the time. Still would probably be stuck on doorways that are not aligned to the world axes (e.g. the office near the maintenance loco in the metro map) but on this map I'd say it works 99%.

about the player hull, in goldsrc's vhlt you could define a custom hull (though I haven't get them to work for svencoop anyway). is there a similar thing in source or gmod compile tools?
