The next expansion is a pretty big change so I am waiting to see how its brought into KR before updating this one.

Yeah, the vanilla mod has Byzanitum from the start. I felt it would through off too many KR triggers if I made Byzantium from the start for KR. So I have it as a formable instead.

Oh yeah that happens, game used to start as Byzantium I thought maybe I am thinking of your base game mod.

Odd, I'll take a look. If you control Constantinople the option to reform Byzantium and change your color and flag should light up. It looks like the decision and conditions are still there.

I have not done much testing but it appears to still work. I will likely wait until Man the Guns before doing any major work with this again.

I was expecting them to mix some more things into GRE but I'm not seeing anything. I'm pondering whether I should restore the tree and more events mixed in.

I’d suggest the name should be changed, Byzantium is more well known but it’s also an invention stemming from western early nationalism. French and German intellectuals preferred to deneounce the Romaness of the ERE and coined the term in the 1600s.

Lots of other options; Empire of the Romans, Roman State, Pragmata Rhomanoi, Politea Rhomanoi, Republic of the Romans ETC.

Figure this, it would be a branch of Greek nationalism winning out here. The Greeks retake Anatolian lands and Constantinople, these Romanoi nationalists win the hearts and minds of the people and rebrand the nation. Do they choose the name Byzantium?

Sorry but I've pulled everything except the option to change to the Byz if you take Constantinople, Change the flags whenever you want after becoming the Byz, and the added army icons. Want to give the version time to settle since they are adding things to Greece before I start to mix things back in.

Yeah fair call. Still loving the flag options anyway. Oh, since KR updated do we still get decisions to raise Varangian Guard units? I haven't had time to actually form Byzantium since the update.

I may mix in my focus tree with KR's but probably won't do much until the next dlc.
