You may want to check out your error.log file in My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/logs (you can open those with your notepad). They sometimes give you reasons as to why your game crashed.
Either way, if anyone else has had the same issues, please tell me.
ITA_infantry_weapon_beretta_mg.mesh
ITA_infantry_weapon_m1891_rifle.mesh
(We'll be replacing the DLC weapons with vanilla HOI4 Italian weapons here, but you could grab any other rifle & submachine gun mesh files from that folder if you feel like it)
Copy & paste those files in your mod's folder, under the same path (gfx/models/units) and once they're there, rename them :
HUN_infantry_weapon_danuvia.mesh
PRC_rifle_hanyang88.mesh
RESPECTIVELY.
And that should do it and allow you to use this mod without the DLCs.
Hope that helps. Forgive me if my instructions are a bit unclear, not a native English speaker :d
The reason this mod needs DLCs in the first place is because I used some new, nice looking weapon, plane & tank models from them. If you were to install this mod without said DLCs, the infantry models would shop up just fine, but with invisible weapons. Likewise your tanks & planes would be invisible I reckon, although they might just revert to default models but I'm not sure about that.
Either way, you'll want to install the mod manually and head to gfx/entities/ in the mod's main folder. There, you'll have to delete the following :
greek_planes.asset
greek_tanks.gfx
greekplanes.gfx
units_greek_tanks_DLC.asset
That'll take care of the new tank & plane models and make them revert to the default, generic models.
am plebian.
You can easily do that yourself however. You just have to extract the mod and install it manually (look it up on the internet if you don't know how to do that, there's really nothing to it) then delete the following in gfx/entities/ : greek_infantry.gfx, units_greek_artillery.asset, units_greek_cavalry.asset, units_greek_infantry.asset and units_greek_vehicles.asset.
If you want to edit the models to use different textures so they don't look like regular German or US troops, Notepad++ can do that too. You can actually open the model files in Notepad++, most of it will look like gibberish obviously, but it turns out the texture path is accessible this way and you can edit it and replace the vanilla textures with your own.
Hope that helps !
